Citizen Revolution Movement
The Citizen Revolution Movement ( es, Movimiento Revolución Ciudadana) is a Democratic socialism, democratic socialist political party in Ecuador formed by supporters of former President Rafael Correa who distanced themselves from Correa's former PAIS Alliance party during the presidency of Lenín Moreno. The party takes its name from The Citizens' Revolution, the term used to refer to the project of building a new society. History The party has its origins in early January 2018, as former Ecuadorian President and PAIS leader Rafael Correa left the ruling party over disagreement with the new direction of the party under Lenín Moreno. Marcela Aguiñaga
Marcela Paola Aguiñaga Vallejo (born 25 April 1973) is an Ecuadorian politician. She most recently served as the Second Vice President of the National Assembly (Ecuador), National Assembly of Ecuador. Previously she was the Ecuadorian Minister of the Environment. Education She attended the Universidad Católica de Santiago de Guayaquil, where she earned a degree in law. Raisa Corral
Raisa Irina Corral Alava is an Ecuadorian politician. She is a member of the National Assembly for the Province of Manabi. In 2021 she was briefly the President of the Citizen Revolution Movement. Life Corral was born in about 1988 into an agricultural family. She studied law at the Eloy Alfaro Lay University of Manabí. In 2019 she was a Technical Director of Professional Development at Ecuador's Ministry of Education. She is a member of the Citizen Revolution Movement and she was elected to the National Assembly in 2021 to represent Manabi. Andrés Arauz Galarza (born 6 February 1985) is an Ecuadorian politician and economist. He was a candidate for President in the 2021 election. Background Andrés Arauz started his career as a public servant in 2009 at the Central Bank of Ecuador. He was general director of banking at the Central Bank from 2011 to 2013. He was later appointed deputy minister of planning and general director of national procurement. 2021 Ecuadorian General Election
General elections were held in Ecuador on 7 February 2021, established by the National Electoral Council (CNE) as the date for the first round of the presidential election and a vote on mining in Cuenca. Incumbent president Lenín Moreno, who had held the office since his victory over Guillermo Lasso in 2017, did not seek reelection. Although delaying the election due to the COVID-19 pandemic was discussed, the CNE announced on 15 December 2020 that the electoral calendar would not shift and confirmed elections would take place in February 2021. José Eloy Alfaro Delgado (25 June 1842 – 28 January 1912) often referred to as "The Old Warrior," was an Ecuadorian politician who served as the President of Ecuador from 1895 to 1901 and from 1906 to 1911.
