Ciska Peters
Ciska Peters is a female singer from the Netherlands who had success in the 1970s and 1980s with six hits during that period. She is remembered for her hits "Dans Naar de Zon", "España Mañana", "Zo Zal Deze Zomer Zijn" and "De Zwarte Kat". Background Peters was born in Nijmegen, the Netherlands on 1 June 1945. She married Pim ter Linde, a Royal Netherlands Air Force photographer. They had a son called Mark Robert. Career 1960s Her career began in 1962, shortly after winning the Radio Luxembourg grand prize. In 1963, she had three singles released. The first single was "Wie Weet" backed with "Lorelei". The A side was written by Lia Houten and Willy Gösson. The B side was written by Rick Shorter and Lance Lehmberg, and was originally recorded by Rick & Lance and released as "Laura Lee". Nijmegen
Nijmegen (;; Spanish and it, Nimega. Pop music is a genre of popular music that originated in its modern form during the mid-1950s in the United States and the United Kingdom. CNR Records
CNR is a Dutch audio and video label. It was founded in 1937 as CNR Records by Cornelis Nicolaas Rood, who made his fortune as a producer of lampshades and other lighting materials. Rood regarded his record label merely as a hobby, but things changed for the better in the early 1950s when CNR bought distribution and marketing rights for several foreign pop and classical record companies. Rick Shorter
Rick Shorter (May 1, 1934 - September 1, 2017) was a songwriter, music producer, and author. During the 1960s when he was most active, he produced and arranged for a multitude of artists. They include Ciska Peters, Big Dee Irwin, and Galt MacDermot. His compositions have been covered by Ola & the Janglers, The Five Tornados, Johnny And The Hurricanes, The Liverbirds, The Esquires, Gene Pitney and Burl Ives. He also composed, arranged, and produced " If I Call You By Some Name" which was a hit for The Paupers. In the 1970s, Shorter returned to his faith and, along with his wife Gwen became very active in the Seventh-day Adventist church from which he had drifted away over prior years.
