Ciro Guerra (born 6 February 1981) is a Colombian film director and screenwriter. He is best known for his 2015 film ''Embrace of the Serpent'', the film was nominated for Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, Best Foreign Language Film at the 88th Academy Awards. Career He made his first film ''Wandering Shadows'' in 2004 at the age of 23. The film was selected as Colombian submission for Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, Best Foreign Language Film at the 78th Academy Awards, however it was not nominated. The International Critics' Week (french: Semaine de la Critique) was founded in 1962 and is organized by the French Syndicate of Cinema Critics.
