The 2014 shootings at Parliament Hill were a series of shootings that occurred on October 22, 2014, at Parliament Hill in Ottawa. At the Canadian National War Memorial, Corporal Nathan Cirillo, a Canadian soldier and reservist on ceremonial sentry duty, was fatally shot by Islamic terrorist Michael Zehaf-Bibeau. Zehaf-Bibeau then entered the nearby Centre Block parliament building, where members of the Parliament of Canada were attending caucuses. Domenico Maria Leone Cirillo FRS (Grumo Nevano, Kingdom of Naples 10 April 1739Naples 29 October 1799) was an Italian physician, entomologist, botanist and patriot. Professional life Appointed while still young to a botanical professorship, Cirillo went for some years to England, where he was elected Fellow of the Royal Society, and to France. On his return to Naples he was appointed to the chair of medical practice and afterwards to the chair of theoretical medicine. Bernardino Cirillo Franco (May 20, 1500 – June 19, 1575), also called Bernardino Cirillo and Cyrilo Franco, was a Roman Catholic bishop of Loreto, Italy. He was born in the city of L'Aquila, Italy on May 20, 1500. His father was Pietro Sante de' Cirilli and his mother was Gemma Bucci. He participated in the Council of Trent and was interested in improving Church music. He published litanies to the Virgin Mary.
