Rodolfo Páez Ávalos, popularly known as Fito Páez (; born 13 March 1963), is an Argentine popular rock and roll pianist, lyricist, singer-songwriter and film director. Biography Early career Paez was born in Rosario, Santa Fe Province; his real name is Rodolfo Paez, like his father. When he was a child people called him "Rodolfito" (in Spanish, an affectionate form of "Rodolfo") to distinguish him from his father. With the passage of time, this nickname became just "Fito", and that is where his stage name came from. He formed Staff, his first band when he was 13. In 1977, he played in El Banquete with Rubén Goldín and Jorge Llonch. He began to perform solo in pubs the following year. Fabiana Cantilo (born March 3, 1959 in Buenos Aires) is an Argentine singer-songwriter. She has sold more than 6 million records in her career. Biography She was born in Buenos Aires, on March 3, 1959, daughter of Silvina Luro Pueyrredón and Gabriel Cantilo. Her first steps in music were at the age of 8 when she was already studying guitar. Her first great performance was at a school event at the Bayard Institute, where she interpreted "Balada para un loco" in front of Astor Piazzolla and Amelita Baltar, who were in the audience. Roddy Lorimer
Roddy Lorimer (born 19 May 1953) is a Scottish musician who plays trumpet and flugelhorn. He has performed with a wide array of artists, including Blur, Gene, the Rolling Stones, Draco Rosa, the Who, the Style Council, Eric Clapton, Suede, Supergrass, Beyoncé, Jamiroquai, Dr John, the Waterboys, Nik Kershaw, Bruce Foxton, Fish (of Marillion). He is a founding member of the horn section Kick Horns. Career Lorimer studied the trumpet at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow. His classical music background can be heard quite distinctively in his work for the Waterboys' single "The Whole of the Moon", which later turned out to be the band's greatest commercial success. Lorimer includes another Waterboys recording, an arrangement of W. B. Yeats' poem "The Stolen Child", amongst his top ten favourite recordings of all time. Kick Horns are a UK horn section based in London. They have worked prolifically as session musicians with a wide variety of performers, and have also recorded as an ensemble. The Kick Horns were established in the 1980s by Simon C. Clarke and Tim Sanders on saxophones, and Roddy Lorimer on trumpet. Career highlights They played on the Spice Girls UK Christmas No.1 single Too Much in 1997 and their follow up single Stop in 1998. Liliana Herrero
Liliana Herrero is an Argentine musician born in 1948 in Villaguay, Entre Ríos. In 1966, she moved to Rosario, Santa Fe, in order to study Philosophy, and has since become an adoptive citizen. In her youth, she took part in the vocal groups ''Contracanto'' and ''Canto Libre''. She was arrested by the military government for her involvement in Peronist movements. In Rosario, she met the local singer and composer Fito Páez, who convinced her of abandoning her teaching career and become a professional singer. Páez was the producer of Herrero's first record, in 1987. This album was also the first that Páez produced. Its music was what they called "supermodern folklore". In 1989 Páez also produced Herrero's second album. Rock en español () is a term used widely in the English-speaking world to refer to any kind of rock music featuring Spanish vocals. Geoff Dugmore (born 12 April 1960) is a Scottish drummer, musical director and producer. He was a member of the bands The Europeans, and Wildlife. Career Educated at Kelvinside Academy in Glasgow, Scotland, Dugmore started his musical career initially playing guitar. However, he became enamored with the drums upon seeing pictures Ringo Starr playing inside his Beatles records, immediately becoming impressed with the drum set equipment. He eventually traded his guitar equipment with a school friend for a drum set. At the age of 13 he started making demos and sending them to record labels, and also played in cover bands from the age of 16. Signed to the short-lived Coma Records, at age 16 he released just one recording on the label.
