Cinetrain
Cinetrain or cine-train was a documentary film project conducted across the Soviet Union in the late 1920s by director Aleksandr Medvedkin. All 60 films created in Cinetrain were considered lost until 1980, when some of them were discovered in the archives of film historian Nikolai Izvolov. Aleksandr Medvedkin
Aleksandr Ivanovich Medvedkin (russian: Александр Иванович Медведкин; 24 February 1900 – 20 February 1989) was a Soviet Russian film director, best known for his 1935 film ''Happiness''. His life and art are the subject of Chris Marker's documentary films, ''The Train Rolls On'' (1971) and '' The Last Bolshevik'' (1992). He travelled around Russia in his Kinopoezd, a Cinetrain, in which he carried film equipment and shot movies in Kolkhozy, which he would then screen there. Chris Marker (; 29 July 1921 – 29 July 2012) was a French writer, photographer, documentary film director, multimedia artist and Essay#Film, film essayist. His best known films are ''La Jetée'' (1962), ''A Grin Without a Cat'' (1977) and ''Sans Soleil'' (1983). History Of Film
The history of film chronicles the development of a visual art form created using film technologies that began in the late 19th century. The advent of film as an artistic medium is not clearly defined. However, the commercial, public screening of ten of the Lumière brothers' short films in Paris on 28 December 1895 can be regarded as the breakthrough of projected cinematographic motion pictures.
