Cimitero Degli Allori
The Cimitero Evangelico agli Allori ("The Evangelical Cemetery at Laurels") is located in Florence, Italy, between 'Due Strade' and Galluzzo. History The small cemetery was opened in 1877 when the non-Catholic communities of Florence could no longer bury their dead in the English Cemetery in Piazzale Donatello. It is named after the Allori farm where it was located. Born as a Protestant cemetery, it is now nonsectarian and hosts people of all Christian denominations, as well as other religions (including Jews and Muslims) and non-believers. The cemetery became newsworthy in 2006 when the writer and journalist Oriana Fallaci was buried there alongside her family. A stone memorial to Alexandros Panagoulis, her companion, is also present. Alice Keppel
Alice Frederica Keppel (''née'' Edmonstone; 29 April 1868 – 11 September 1947) was an aristocrat, british society hostess and a long-time mistress of King Edward VII. Keppel grew up at Duntreath Castle, the family seat of the Edmonstone baronets in Scotland. She was the youngest child of Mary Elizabeth, ''née'' Parsons, and Sir William Edmonstone, 4th Baronet. Truman Seymour
Truman Seymour (September 24, 1824 – October 30, 1891) was a career soldier and an accomplished painter. He served in the Union Army during the American Civil War, rising to the rank of major general. He was present at the Battle of Fort Sumter. Tjaarke Hendrika Maria Maas (26 October 1974 – June 2004) was a Dutch painter, whose work came to public attention in the late 1990s. Biography Tjaarke Maas started to paint in her early childhood, in Tasmania, Australia, where her family had immigrated from the Netherlands. Roberto Longhi (28 December 1890 – 3 June 1970) was an Italian academic, art historian, and curator. The main subjects of his studies were the painters Caravaggio and Piero della Francesca. Early life and career Longhi was born in December 1890 in Alba in Piedmont. His parents were from Emilia. He studied with Pietro Toesca, in Turin, and Adolfo Venturi in Rome. Charles Alexander Loeser (January 11, 1864 – March 15, 1928) was an American art historian and art collector. Life Charles Loeser was born in New York City on January 11, 1864, into a family of German origin: his father, Frederick Loeser (1833-1911), founded Frederick Loeser & Co. After completing his Master of Arts degree in Philosophy at Harvard University in 1888, Charles Loeser decided to travel to Europe and visit his friend and fellow Harvard alumnus, George Santayana.
