''Cichlisuite'' is the sixth EP by electronic music duo Autechre, released on August 26, 1997 by Warp Records. The EP was simultaneously released on CD and as two 12” records, all with unique cover art by The Designers Republic. ''Cichlisuite'' is Autechre's third release of 1997, following ''Chiastic Slide'' and the ''Envane ''Envane'' is the fifth EP by British electronic music duo Autechre, released by Warp Records on 27 January 1997. Chiastic Slide
''Chiastic Slide'' is the fourth studio album by the British electronic music group Autechre, released 17 February 1997 by Warp Records. The album saw the duo continue to move further away from the ambient techno sound of their early releases, employing harsher, glitchier beats. Though not initially met with the same critical acclaim as ''Tri Repetae'' or ''LP5'', ''Chiastic Slide'' was eventually recognized by critics as an innovative and "enormously influential" album. Release ''Chiastic Slide'' was released on 17 February 1997. It did not receive a release in the United States until Warp Records began distributing its own releases there in 2001. The twelve-inch single (often written as 12-inch or 12″) is a type of vinyl ( polyvinyl chloride or PVC) gramophone record that has wider groove spacing and shorter playing time with a 'single' or a few related sound tracks on each surface, compared to LPs (long play) which have several songs on each side. The Designers Republic
The Designers Republic (also tDR, and styled as The Designers Republic™) is a British graphic design studio based in Sheffield, England, founded in 1986 by Ian Anderson and Nick Phillips. They are best known for electronic music logos, album artwork, and anti-establishment aesthetics, embracing "brash consumerism and the uniform style of corporate brands". Work by tDR is held in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
