Chūō Alps Quasi-National Park
is a Quasi-National Park in southern Nagano Prefecture, Japan. Established in 2020, the park has an area at time of foundation of , corresponding exactly to that of the former , founded on 22 November 1951, which it supersedes and replaces. The Park's central feature is the Central Alps. Three separate areas of the park span the borders of thirteen municipalities: Achi, Agematsu, Iida, Iijima, Ina, Kiso, Komagane, Matsukawa, Miyada, Nagiso, Ōkuwa, Shiojiri, and Takamori. Mount Kisokoma
is a mountain located in Miyada, Kamiina District, and Kiso and Agematsu, Kiso District, Nagano Prefecture, in the Chūbu region of Japan. It is tall and is the tallest peak in the Kiso Mountains. It is also included on the list of "100 Famous Japanese Mountains." Sometimes its name is just shortened to Kisokoma. Alternative ''kanji'' for the name are 木曾駒ヶ岳 (''Kisokoma-ga-take''). Geography The Ina Valley is located between the "two Koma Mountains." Mount Kisokoma is referred to as the western of the two mountains, while Mount Kaikoma is referred to as the eastern one. The is a series of mountain ranges in Japan which bisect the main island of Honshu. The peaks that tower over central Honshu have long been the object of veneration and pilgrimage. These mountains had long been exploited by local people for raw materials, including timber, fuel, fertilizer, fodder, meat, minerals, and medicines. Most visitors came to the mountain for pilgrimage, especially to the Buddhist temple and the sacred peak of Mount Tate. The name was coined by English archaeologist William Gowland, and later popularized by Reverend Walter Weston (1861–1940), an English missionary for whom a memorial plaque is located at Kamikōchi, a tourist destination known for its alpine climate.
