Château La Tour Du Pin Figeac (Giraud-Bélivier)
Château La Tour du Pin Figeac is a Bordeaux wine estate in the appellation Saint-Émilion, and is currently owned by the Giraud family. History Until 1879, this property was a part of the Figeac estate, acquired to form Château La Tour Figeac, which was further sold and divided into two parts, this property and that of Château La Tour du Pin Figeac (Moueix). Bought in 1923 by M. G. Bélivier, the Giraud family acquired the property in 1972. The Moueix property of the same name was sold to Château Cheval Blanc in 2006, who renamed it and later absorbed it, so the Giraud property is now the only Château La Tour du Pin Figeac. Château La Tour Figeac is a Bordeaux wine estate in the appellation Saint-Émilion, ranked ''Grand cru classé'' in the Classification of Saint-Émilion wine, and is currently owned by the Rettenmaier family. It is situated between Château Cheval Blanc and Château Figeac near the border to Pomerol. History Until 1879, this property was a part of the Figeac estate, when a section was bought by a M. Corbière. Later half the land was sold and further divided into the estates Château La Tour du Pin Figeac (Moueix) and Château La Tour du Pin Figeac (Giraud-Bélivier). Gunz, Günz or Gunz Complex is a timespan in the glacial history of the Alps. It started approximately one million years ago and ended about 370 000 years ago. Second Wine
Second wine or second label ( French: ''Second vin'') is a term commonly associated with Bordeaux wine to refer to a second label wine made from '' cuvee'' not selected for use in the ''Grand vin'' or first label. In some cases a third wine or even fourth wine is also produced. Depending on the house winemaking style, individual plots of a vineyard may be selected, often those of the youngest vines, and fermented separately, with the best performing barrels being chosen for the house's top wine and the other barrels being bottled under a separate label and sold for a lower price than the ''Grand vin''. In less favorable vintages, an estate may choose to release only a second label wine rather than to release a smaller than normal quantity of its ''Grand vin'' or a wine that would not be consistent with past vintages under that name. Graves (wine Region)
Graves (, ''gravelly land'') is an important subregion of the Bordeaux wine region. Graves is situated on the left bank of the Garonne River, in the upstream part of the region, southeast of the city Bordeaux and stretches over . Graves is the only Bordeaux subregion which is famed for all three of Bordeaux' three main wine types—reds, dry whites and sweet wines—although red wines dominate the total production.
