Chunichi Building
The Chunichi Building is located in Sakae, Nagoya in central Japan. It is located facing the Hisaya Ōdori Park. Officially it is called the Chūbu Nippon Building, but is commonly known as the Chunichi Building. It houses amongst many other things the Chunichi Theatre was a venue for the performing arts in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. It closed on March 25, 2018. Sakae, Nagoya
is an area in Naka-ku, Nagoya, Aichi, Japan. It refers to the areas around Sakae intersection, Sakae Station on the Nagoya Municipal Subway and Sakae Station on the Meitetsu Seto Line. Sakae is in the heart of Nagoya and is, along with Nagoya Station, one of Nagoya's main commercial districts. Overview The Sakae district is formed around the Sakae intersection ''Otsu-dori'' going north–south and ''Hirokōji-dori'' going east–west. It is the main shopping district of Nagoya, along with Nagoya Station and its immediate vicinity. Parallel to Otsu-dori is Hisaya-Ōdori; this road runs from Yaba-cho to Sakae except for Sotobori-dori, which is maintained as Hisaya Ōdori Park. Popular events are held in this park on the weekend. Also, inside Hisaya-odori Park is the 180-meter Nagoya TV Tower, built in 1954, which is often mentioned as a symbol of Nagoya. At night, the tower is lit and can be seen all over Sakae. Hisaya Ōdori Park
The Hisaya-ōdōri Park (久屋大通公園) is located in Sakae, Nagoya, in central Japan. History The park was laid out after the devastation of World War II by the mayor of Nagoya, in order to create green space in the middle of the city. It acts as a central park within the downtown area and has over the years been laid out with many trees, water fountains and works of modern art such as sculptures and other installations. The park is around 2 km long and stretches roughly from north to south. Nagoya TV Tower is located in the middle of the park. The park is also the venue of the annual Nagoya Festival, which attracts many visitors.
