Chungmok Of Goryeo
Chungmok of Goryeo (15 May 1337 – 25 December 1348, r. 1344–1348), born Wang Heun (), was the 29th king of the Goryeo dynasty of Korea. Biography He was the eldest son of King Chunghye, and his mother was Princess Deoknyeong. Chungmok is known in some records by his Mongolian name, Batma Dorji, which is rendered in hanja as ''Palsamataaji'' (). After King Chunghye was deposed in 1343, King Chungmok had an audience with the Yuan Emperor Togon-temür. He was asked whether he would prefer to follow the ways of his mother or his father; when King Chungmok answered that he would prefer to follow his mother, the Emperor said that this was a child who knew the difference between right and wrong, and made him king. By the 9th to 4th century BC, various historical and archaeological evidence shows Gojoseon was a flourishing state and a self-declared kingdom. Namyang Hong Clan
Namyang Hong clan () is one of the Korean clans. Their Bon-gwan is in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi, Gyeonggi Province. According to the research held in 2015, the number of Namyang Hong clan members was 487,488. The Namyang Hong clan is divided into the Dang Hong (남양 홍씨 당홍계, 南陽 洪氏 唐洪系) and the To Hong (남양 홍씨 토홍계, 南陽 洪氏 土洪系) lineages. Although they share the surname Hong and an ancestral seat in Hwaseong's Namyang-eup, and so are grouped together as the Namyang Hong clan, the two lineages do not share a common first ancestor and are not related. Chungjeong of Goryeo (9 January 1338 – 23 March 1352, r. 1348–1351), born Wang Jeo (), was the 30th ruler of the Goryeo dynasty of Korea and was enthroned by imperial edict at the age of 12. Korea Under Yuan Rule
Goryeo under Mongol rule refers to the rule of the Mongol Empire and the Mongol-led Yuan dynasty over the Korean Peninsula from about 1270 to 1356. After the Mongol invasions of Korea and the capitulation of the Korean Goryeo dynasty in the 13th century, Goryeo became a semi-autonomous vassal state and compulsory ally of the Yuan dynasty for about 80 years. It has been referred to as a "son-in-law kingdom in the Mongol empire."
