Chunghwa Postal Museum
The Postal Museum () is a museum located in Zhongzheng District, Taipei, Taiwan. The museum encompasses seven floors and covers postal history, modern postal service, philately, and special exhibitions. History The museum opened at a location in Xindian Township, Taipei County on 20 March 1966, on the 70th anniversary of Chunghwa Post. Due to remoteness of the Xindian location and the lack of space, the museum was moved to its present location in the Nanhai Academy in 1984. Features The museum contains exhibitions about postal history and stamps, the modern postal service, as well as a special exhibition, a library, and a auditorium. Architecture The museums spans over 10 floors. Transportation The museum is within walking distance of the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall Station of the Taipei Metro. Zhongzheng District (also Jhongjheng District) is a district in Taipei. It is home to most of the national government buildings of the Republic of China (Taiwan), including the Presidential Office, the Executive Yuan, the Control Yuan, the Legislative Yuan, the Judicial Yuan and various government ministries. Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall Metro Station
Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall (), secondary station name Nanmen (), is a metro station in Taipei, Taiwan served by the Taipei Metro. It is a transfer station for the Tamsui–Xinyi line and Songshan–Xindian line. While the memorial for which the station is named after was embroiled in a naming dispute, the name of the station has remained unchanged. Station overview The station is a three-level, underground structure with two island platforms and seven exits. The two platforms are stacked on top of one another, allowing for cross-platform interchange between the Tamsui–Xinyi line and the Songshan–Xindian line. The washrooms are outside the entrance area. The station is situated under Roosevelt Road, between Nanhai Road, Linsen South Road, and Aiguo East Road. Taipei Metro
Taipei Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), branded as Metro Taipei, is a rapid transit system serving the areas of Taipei and New Taipei in Taiwan, operated by the government-owned Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation, which also operates the Maokong Gondola. Taipei Metro was the first metro system ever built in Taiwan. The initial network was approved for construction in 1986 and work began two years later. The Nanhai Academy () is a collection of cultural and educational facilities located on Nanhai Road in the Zhongzheng District of Taipei, Taiwan. History After the Republic of China Government relocated to Taiwan following the Chinese Civil War, President Chiang Kai-shek ordered its construction. The Ministry of Education and Chang Chi-yun planned the construction of five major social institutions located around the Taipei Botanical Garden. New Taipei City is a special municipality located in northern Taiwan. Xindian District
Xindian District () is an inner city district in the southern part of New Taipei City, Taiwan. Name Xindian's name originated during the Qing Dynasty close to 300 years ago. According to legend, a person named Lin and others came from Quanzhou, Fujian Province. On a mountain road leading to Wulai, they built a small cabin and opened a store selling groceries for the exchange of goods with mountain aborigines. Since the store had no formal name, travelers called it ''Sintiam'' (). An area usually not considered as part of Xindian is ''Ankeng'' (), although it is within the jurisdiction of the district, located in a valley on the west side of the Xindian Creek.
