Chuncheon Station
Chuncheon Station () is a railway station on, and the eastern terminus of, the Gyeongchun Line in Geunhwa-dong, Chuncheon, Chuncheon-si, Gangwon-do (South Korea), Gangwon-do, South Korea. It was opened in 1939 as a regular train station and became a subway stop in 2010. Chuncheon
Chuncheon (; ; formerly romanized as Chunchŏn; literally ''spring river'') is the capital of Gangwon Province in South Korea. The city lies in the north of the county, located in a basin formed by the Soyang River and Han River. There are some large lakes around the city, most notably Soyang Lake and Uiam Lake (or Uiam Dam). The area is renowned for its small river islands, such as Sangjungdo, Ha-Jungdo, Bungeodo, and Wido. It is a popular destination among east Asian tourists as it was featured in the popular Korean drama ''Winter Sonata'' (겨울연가). It is where the resort island of Namiseom is located. Gangwon-do (South Korea)
Gangwon Province is a province of South Korea, with its capital at Chuncheon. It is bound on the east by the Sea of Japan, and borders Gyeonggi Province to its west, North Gyeongsang Province and North Chungcheong Province to its south, and the Military Demarcation Line to the north, separating it from North Korea's Kangwŏn Province. Island Platform
An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks. An alternative arrangement is to position side platforms on either side of the tracks. The historical use of island platforms depends greatly upon the location. Kwangwoon University Station
Kwangwoon University station (formerly Seongbuk station) is a train station on Seoul Subway Line 1, Gyeongchun Line and Gyeongwon Line in Seoul, South Korea operated by Korail. Together with Incheon station and Suwon station, this station was one of the three termini of Line 1 when it opened in 1974. Seongbuk Depot, one of the five depots of Line 1, is located nearby. Hallym University (한림대학교) is a private university located in Chuncheon, Gangwon, Republic of Korea. Hallym University was established in 1982.
