Chuncheon Citizen FC ( ko, 춘천시민축구단) is a South Korean football club based in Chuncheon, Gangwon. The club plays in the K3 League, the third tier of South Korean football. Chuncheon FC's home stadium is Chuncheon Stadium. History Chuncheon FC founded in 12 December 2009. Chuncheon Stadium
Chuncheon Songam Sports Town is a sports complex in Chuncheon, South Korea. The former stadium was built in 1980 as ''Chuncheon Civic Stadium''. Facilities Chuncheon Songam Stadium Newly established main stadium was opened in May 2009. It is used mostly for football matches. The stadium has a capacity for 20,000 spectators. 2016 K3 League
The 2016 K3 League was the tenth season of amateur K3 League. Before the start of the 2016 season, Seoul FC Martyrs withdrew from the league, but Buyeo FC, Siheung Citizen and Yangpyeong FC joined the league. The top five teams of the regular season qualified for the championship playoffs, and winners of the regular season advanced to the final directly. On the other hand, eight teams of participating teams had to be relegated to the K3 League Basic, founded as the second division of the K3 League in 2017. The bottom five teams of the regular season were directly relegated, and three losing teams were additionally relegated after the relegation playoffs, contested between four teams from 12th to 15th-placed team. The K3 League is the third tier of South Korean football league system, which was created from the rebranding of the Korea National League (2003–2019) and the former K3 League (2007–2019) into K3 League and K4 League in 2020. 16 teams are currently playing in the league. History The Korean National Semi-Professional Football League, the semi-professional league of South Korea, began in 1964 and lasted until it was replaced by the Korea National League (KNL) in 2003. 15 clubs played in the new KNL. 2023 K3 League
The 2023 K3 League is the third season of the K3 League as a semi-professional league and the third tier of South Korean football league system. The regular season is from 11 March to 11 November 2023. Changwon City FC is the defending champions. Competition format This year, the competition features 16 teams, with each of them playing 30 matches at the end of the season. The 15th and 16th placed team are automatically relegated to K4 League, and the 1st and 2nd from K4 League, are automatically promoted to the 2024 season, replacing the K3-relegated teams. 2021 K4 League
The 2021 K4 League is the second season of the K4 League as a semi-professional league and the fourth tier of South Korean football league system. Paju Citizen are the defending champions and was promoted together with Ulsan Citizen (the runner-up) to 2021 K3 League. Chuncheon Citizen and Jeonju Citizen were relegated from 2020 K3 League and will play in the K4 League for the first time. Icheon Citizen have disbanded due to financial problems and haven't registered for the league, while Yeoju Citizen (now Yeoju FC) has submitted a new entry in the competition after first announcing their disbandment. 2020 K3 League
The 2020 K3 League was the first season of the K3 League as a semi-professional league and the third tier of South Korean football league system. After the 2019 season, the former Korea National League and K3 League Advanced went defunct and rebranded into the K3 League. In the 2020 season, 16 teams are going to compete in the K3 League, and they are 8 teams from KNL, 6 teams from K3 League Advanced, and 2 teams from K3 League Basic. The teams for the 2020 season were announced by the Korea Football Association on 19 December 2019. The 2019 K3 League Advanced was the 13th season of the K3 League Advanced. This is last season of K3 League Advanced.
