Chums (paper)
''Chums'' was a boys' weekly newspaper started in 1892 by Cassell & Company and later, from 1927, published by Amalgamated Press. The publisher gathered the weekly paper into monthly and annual editions. The monthly versions were published on the 25th of the month, and up to November 1920 included all the content of the weekly editions. From then on, the monthly editions had all the story content of the weeklies, but left out the covers. This left a gap which was then filled by short stories, articles and even serials that were not included in the weekly edition. The serial ceased publication in 1941. ''Chums'' was notably the sponsor of the Chums League, Chums Society of Stamp Collectors, Chums Scouts, the British Boy Scouts and the British Boys Naval Brigade/National Naval Cadets. ''Chums'' is one of the most highly sought-after boys' papers by collectors due to its distinctive and attractively illustrated red covers. Scouts Of Australia
Independent Australian Scouts, previously known as Scouts of Australia (1992 to 2001), is a Scouting organisation operating as a central umbrella organisation for independent local scout clubs or associations. Independent Australian Scouts is a member of the Order of World Scouts and became an affiliate and a successor to British Boy Scouts and British Girl Scouts Association in Australia. __TOC__ Programme Independent Australian Scouts emphasises scouting as a simple, experiential, outdoor activity emulating frontier scouts in being self-reliant, thrifty and resourceful and useful and helpful. The association views the Scout Movement as part of the wider Woodcraft Movement. The association eschews the cult-like idolisation of Robert Baden-Powell, "family scouting", the unnecessary connection of scouting with later, ever more juvenile programs (such as Wolf Cubs, Beavers, Joeys, Keas and Squirrels), the over-involvement of adults, adult over-organisation of scouting, adults ...

Rover Scout
Rover Scouts, Rovers, Rover Scouting or Rovering is a program associated with some Scouting organizations for adult men and women. A group of Rovers is called a 'Rover Crew'. Rovers was originated by The Boy Scouts Association in the United Kingdom in 1918 to provide a program for young men who had grown up beyond the age range of the Boy Scouts. It was adopted by many other Scouting organisations. Many Scouting organisations, including The Scout Association in the UK, no longer include a Rover program. Some have replaced it with other programs while others, including Traditional Scouting organisations, maintain the original program. The Baden-Powell Award still forms the Rover award scheme in associations in several countries including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, India, Pakistan, Hong Kong and Singapore, and for several of the traditional Scouting associations that retained Rover Scouting. Origins The Rover program had its origins in two different schemes ...

Cub Scout
Cub Scouts, Cubs or Wolf Cubs are programs associated with Scouting for young children usually between 7 and 12, depending on the organization to which they belong. A participant in the program is called a Cub. A group of Cubs is called a 'Pack'. The Wolf Cub program was originated by The Boy Scouts Association in the United Kingdom in 1916 to provide a program for boys who were too young to be Boy Scouts. It was adopted by many other Scouting organizations. Many Scouting organizations, including The Scout Association, no longer use the Wolf Cub program and have replaced it with other programs but have retained the name Cubs. Others, including Traditional Scouting organizations, maintain the original Wolf Cubs program. Originally Cubs programs were open only to boys, while young girls could join the Brownies. Some Cub organizations are open to both girls and boys, although not necessarily in the same unit. A few organizations also operate a Sea Cub version of Cubs. Found ...

Beavers (Scouting)
Beavers is a program associated with some Scouting organizations generally for children aged 6 to 8 who are too young for the Cub program. Beavers programs had their origins in the Northern Ireland organization ''The Little Brothers'', founded in 1963 and renamed "Beavers" in 1966 to provide a program for boys who were too young to be Wolf Cubs. A Beavers program for Scouts Canada was designed and tested in 1971 and adopted in 1974. Since then, other scouting organizations in some countries have developed their own Beavers or similar programs. Some organizations do not call their programs "Beavers" and often use an animal local to their region instead. Many share common ideas between them, such as: * A Beaver pledge and/or motto, * Earning merit badges * A Beaver uniform, distinct from that of older Cubs * Organized in groups, each called a Beaver "Colony", with optional smaller groups called "Lodges" * Special ceremonies to commemorate new members, and the graduation of the old ...

Baden-Powell Scouts' Association
The Baden-Powell Scouts' Association (''B-PSA'') is a worldwide youth organisation originating in the United Kingdom, with friendly relationships with similar traditional scouting organisations in various countries. Baden-Powell Scouting focuses on the importance of tradition in the scout movement. The Baden-Powell Scouts' Association shares the heritage of the youth scouting movement, however they believe in a traditional way of scouting which closely follows the programme set out by Lt. General Robert Baden-Powell in his book: ''Scouting for Boys''. The Baden-Powell Scouts' Association was formed in the United Kingdom in 1970 by the Reverend William Dowling when it was felt that the Scout Association was abandoning the traditions and intentions set out by Baden-Powell in 1908. The Baden-Powell Scouts retain the belief that the essence of the movement should be based on outdoor activities related to the skills of explorers, backwoodsmen and frontiersmen. It is a voluntary, no ...

St Stephen's House, Oxford
St Stephen's House is an Anglican theological college and one of five permanent private halls of the University of Oxford, England. It will cease to be a permanent private hall in 2023. The college has a very small proportion of undergraduate students (just 4 in the academic year 2019–2020), but has graduate students in a number of fields including theology, Byzantine studies, education, and music. At any time, roughly one quarter of the students are pursuing professional training as classroom teachers, and another quarter professional theological and ministerial training as priests, with the other half following a diverse range of studies and research. History St Stephen's House was founded in 1876 by members of the Oxford Movement within the Church of England, and was originally located in the very centre of Oxford, on what is today the site of the New Bodleian Library. Its principal founder was Edward King, Regius Professor of Moral and Pastoral Theology at Oxford and lat ...
