Chukchi Language
Chukchi ( ), also known as Chukot, is a Chukotko-Kamchatkan languages, Chukotko–Kamchatkan language spoken by the Chukchi people in the easternmost extremity of Siberia, mainly in Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. The language is closely related to Koryak language, Koryak. Chukchi, Koryak, Kerek language, Kerek, Alutor language, Alutor, and Itelmen language, Itelmen form the Chukotko-Kamchatkan Language families and languages, language family. There are many cultural similarities between the Chukchis and Koryaks, including economies based on reindeer herding. Both peoples refer to themselves by the endonym ''Luorawetlat'' (ԓыгъоравэтԓьат ; singular ''Luorawetlan'' ԓыгъоравэтԓьан ), meaning "the real people". Reindeer Herding
Reindeer herding is when reindeer are herded by people in a limited area. Currently, reindeer are the only semi-domesticated animal which naturally belong to the North. Reindeer herding is conducted in nine countries: Norway, Finland, Sweden, Russia, Greenland, United States, The United States (Alaska), Mongolia, China and Canada. A small herd is also maintained in Scotland's Cairngorms National Park. Reindeer herding is conducted by individuals within some kind of cooperation, in forms such as families, districts, Sámi people, Sámi and Yakuts, Yakut villages and sovkhozy (collective farms). Yuri Rytkheu
Yuri Sergeyevich Rytkheu ( rus, Ю́рий Серге́евич Рытхэ́у, , ˈjʉrʲɪj sʲɪrˈɡʲe(j)ɪvʲɪtɕ rɨtˈxɛʊ; ; 8 March 1930 – 14 May 2008) was a Chukchi people, Chukchi writer, who wrote in both his native Chukchi language, Chukchi and in Russian. He is considered to be the father of Chukchi literature. Early life Yuri Rytkheu was born 18 March 1930 to a family of trappers and hunters. His birthplace, the village of Uelen, was then in the Chukotsky District, Far Eastern Krai; it is now part of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. His grandfather was a Shamanism in Siberia, shaman. An endangered language or moribund language is a language that is at risk of disappearing as its speakers die out or shift to speaking other languages. Tungusic Languages
The Tungusic languages (also known as Manchu–Tungus and Tungus) form a language family spoken in Eastern Siberia and Manchuria by Tungusic peoples. Many Tungusic languages are endangered. There are approximately 75,000 native speakers of the dozen living languages of the Tungusic language family. The term "Tungusic" is from an exonym for the Evenk people (Ewenki) used by the Yakuts ("tongus").
