Chuck Heaton
Charles Heaton Jr. (October 22, 1917 – February 14, 2008) was an American sports news columnist, journalist, commentator, and reporter. He worked for 50 years as a sportswriter for ''The Cleveland Plain Dealer'' in Cleveland, Ohio. He was the father of actress Patricia Heaton of ''Everybody Loves Raymond'' and '' The Middle''. He was also the father of Michael Heaton, who was a writer and movie critic for the ''Cleveland Plain Dealer'' and served for 30 years as the newspaper's "Minister of Culture." Michael is the author of four books, and is the screenwriter for Hallmark's movie, ''The Christmas Heart.'' Among the many awards he received during his career was the 1980 Dick McCann Memorial Award, given by the Pro Football Writers Association for distinguished reporting. Yonkers () is a city in Westchester County, New York, United States. Developed along the Hudson River, it is the third most populous city in the state of New York, after New York City and Buffalo. The Bronze Star Medal (BSM) is a United States Armed Forces decoration awarded to members of the United States Armed Forces for either heroic achievement, heroic service, meritorious achievement, or meritorious service in a combat zone. When the medal is awarded by the Army, Air Force, or Space Force for acts of valor in combat, the "V" device is authorized for wear on the medal. When the medal is awarded by the Navy, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard for acts of valor or meritorious service in combat, the Combat "V" is authorized for wear on the medal.
