Chuck Courtney (golfer)
Charles Courtney (born October 11, 1940) is an American professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour in the 1960s and 1970s. Courtney was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and raised in San Diego, California. He attended San Diego State University, where he was a three-time All-American as a member of the golf team: second team in 1960 and 1961, first team in 1962. Courtney turned professional in 1963. For more than a decade, he played on the PGA Tour, where he had two wins and more than two dozen top-10 finishes. He was the head professional at Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe, California for two decades starting in 1983. He is now golf professional emeritus. He was inducted into the San Diego State University Athletics Hall of Fame in 1991. Minneapolis () is the largest city in Minnesota, United States, and the county seat of Hennepin County. Bert Greene (golfer)
Charles "Bert" Greene (born February 11, 1944) is an American professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour. Greene was born in Gray, Georgia. He attended the University of Tennessee where he was a member of the golf team. He won the 1964 SEC Championship and was a third-team All-American in 1964 and 1965. Greene turned professional in 1966. He played on the PGA Tour from 1967 to 1975. He won one Tour event, the 1973 Liggett Myers Open at MacGregor Downs Country Club in Cary, North Carolina, in a playoff with Miller Barber. He also finished second at the 1969 Westchester Classic, one stroke behind Frank Beard, and at the 1969 Tallahassee Open Invitational, one stroke behind Chuck Courtney. Puerto Rico Open
The Puerto Rico Open is a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour that was first played in 2008. It is the only PGA Tour event ever held in Puerto Rico. The tournament is played at the Coco Beach Golf Course (previously Trump International Golf Club Puerto Rico) which was designed by Tom Kite. From its inception through 2015, it was played in early March as an alternate event to the WGC-Cadillac Championship, but in 2016 it moved to late March, opposite the WGC-Dell Match Play. All four rounds are broadcast on the Golf Channel. The winner of the Puerto Rico Open earns 300 FedEx Cup points and 24 OWGR points, compared to 550 FedEx Cup and 70-80 OWGR points for World Golf Championships. As an alternate event, the winner does not earn a bid to the Masters, but still receives a two-year exemption on the PGA Tour (compared to three for a WGC event) and entry into the PGA Championship as a Tour winner. DeWitt Weaver (golfer)
DeWitt Thompson Weaver Jr. (September 14, 1939 – March 18, 2021) was an American golf consultant and professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour and the Senior PGA Tour. Early life Weaver was born in Danville, Kentucky. He spent part of his youth there and in Lubbock, Texas, where his father was the head football coach at Texas Tech in the 1950s. In high school, he excelled in a number of sports. Amateur career After graduation, he enrolled at Southern Methodist University, where he was a multisport letterman. Weaver moved to Georgia after college and became a dominant player in Georgia amateur golf. Professional career Weaver turned professional in 1964. It was played at the Green Island Country Club in Columbus, Georgia, from 1970 to 1990 and at the Callaway Gardens Resort (Mountain View Course), Pine Mountain, Georgia, from 1991 to 2002. Bob Shaw (golfer)
Robert J. Shaw (born 24 December 1944) is an Australian professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour in the 1970s. Shaw was born in Sydney. He turned professional in 1965. Shaw played in Europe in 1968, winning the Spanish Open. Later in the year he successfully qualified for the PGA Tour at 1968 APG Tour Qualifying School. His best finishes in PGA Tour events were a T-2 at both the 1969 Tallahassee Open and the 1971 Greater Milwaukee Open plus a win at the 1972 Tallahassee Open with a 15-under-par 273 by two strokes over Leonard Thompson.
