Chuck Briggs
Chuck Briggs (15 March 1960 - 4 July 2000) was an American punk rock guitarist, notably working with the U.S. Bombs. He was featured on the albums '' Garibaldi Guard'', ''War Birth'' and '' Never Mind the Opened Minds''. During the 1980s, he played with a number of Californian punk bands, most notably the Dischords, who released one EP, ''Dirty Habits''. Briggs was a good friend of U.S. Bombs' lead singer, Duane Peters, for many years. After the release of ''War Birth'', and the tour that followed, Briggs left the U.S. Bombs when he found out he was HIV positive from IV drug use, and was replaced by Johnny 'Two Baggs' Wickersham for the follow-up album, ''The World''. Only a few people knew Chuck' condition until Duane Peters found out two weeks before Chuck's death. The outpouring of love from friends and family in those last two weeks was tremendous. Garibaldi Guard
The 39th New York Infantry Regiment, known as the "Garibaldi Guard" after the Italian revolutionary, Giuseppe Garibaldi, was an infantry regiment that served in the Union Army during the American Civil War. Service This regiment was mustered (assembled) in New York City by the Union Defense Committee, under the leadership of Col. Frederick George D'Utassy by special authority from the War Department during the Civil War of the United States. On May 27, 1861, they deployed to Washington D.C., having been authorized for a period of three years by New York State. Duane Peters
Duane Thomas Peters (born June 12, 1961) is a punk rock singer/songwriter and professional skateboarder. Active since 1975, he is probably best known as the singer in the California punk rock band U.S. Bombs, which formed in 1993. Biography Peters is credited for popularizing, or in his words "inventing" many tricks, such as the "acid drop" into a pool/bowl, the "layback grind", the "Indy air", the "Sweeper", the "backside layback grind revert", the "fakie hang-up" (a.k.a. "Disaster"), the "invert revert", the "fakie thruster", and the "loop of death", a full 360-degree rotation in a specially designed loop. Jonny Wickersham
Jonny "2 Bags" Wickersham (born May 26, 196 is an American musician who is currently a guitarist for the California punk rock band Social Distortion. He joined Social Distortion after the death of founding member and longtime friend Dennis Danell in February 2000. Previously he had been a guitarist for U.S. Bombs, The Cadillac Tramps, and Youth Brigade. Career Wickersham has been touring and recording with Social Distortion since the ''When the Angels Sing'' memorial concert held in June 2000 to benefit Dennis Danell's family. Wickersham also co-wrote "Angel's Wings", "Faithless" and "Nickels and Dimes" along with Mike Ness for Social Distortion's 2004 release ''Sex, Love and Rock 'n' Roll'' as well as "Machine Gun Blues", "Far Side of Nowhere" and "Take Care of Yourself" with Ness on Social Distortion's ''Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes''.
