''Chubby Groove'' is a collaborative studio album by Japanese singer Koshi Inaba, of B'z fame, and Native American musician Stevie Salas. It was released by Vermillion Records on January 18, 2017. Overview The album debuted at #2 at the Japanese Oricon weekly album charts, while #2 at Top Albums Sales and #4 Hot Albums chart list by ''Billboard Japan''. It also reached #44 at the ''Billboard Japan'' Top Albums Sales Year End 2017, and #47 at Oricon's year end chart, being certified Gold by RIAJ. The song "Overdrive" was used in Japan in a commercial for the new Porsche Panamera and "Trophy" was the image song for the 2017 Wowow Tennis Season. Koshi Inaba
(born September 23, 1964 in Tsuyama, Okayama) is a Japanese vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. He is best known as the singer and lyricist of the rock duo B'z, the best-selling music act in their native Japan. He has also had a successful solo career, with five studio albums and five singles topping the Japanese music charts. He collaborated with Slash on single " Sahara" which was released in 2009. In 2017, he released a collaborative album, '' Chubby Groove'', with Stevie Salas under the name "Inaba/Salas". Early life Koshi Inaba was born and raised in Tsuyama, Okayama, and enrolled in Yokohama National University's Faculty for Education in 1983 to become a qualified mathematics teacher. Taylor Hawkins
Oliver Taylor Hawkins (February 17, 1972 – March 25, 2022) was an American musician, best known as the drummer of the rock band Foo Fighters, with whom he recorded eight studio albums between 1999 and 2021. Before joining the band in 1997, he was a touring drummer for Sass Jordan and for Alanis Morissette, as well as the drummer of the progressive experimental band Sylvia. In 2004, Hawkins formed his own side project, Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders, in which he played drums and sang, releasing three studio albums between 2006 and 2019. He is known for a long association with The Rolling Stones, providing backing vocals since 1989 and on their studio recordings and live tours.
