Chrome Locust
Chrome Locust were an American stoner rock band formed in New York city that was active between 1998 and 1999. "In the Summer of 1998, while New York punk kings D Generation went on hiatus, drummer Michael Wildwood and guitarist Todd Youth (who had previously formed and played with seminal outfits Agnostic Front and Murphy's Law (band), Murphy's Law) began work on a side project that evolved out of a jam session that the two had with bassist Jim Heneghan (who was in Vásquez (band), Vásquez at the time). Within a few months, all three decided to leave their respective groups in order to devote all of their energies to this new band, which they dubbed Chrome Locust." Motörhead
Motörhead () were an English rock band formed in London in 1975 by Lemmy (lead vocals, bass), Larry Wallis (guitar) and Lucas Fox (drums). Lemmy was also the primary songwriter and only constant member. The band are often considered a precursor to the new wave of British heavy metal, which re-energised heavy metal in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Though several guitarists and drummers have played in Motörhead, most of their best-selling albums and singles feature drummer Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor and guitarist "Fast" Eddie Clarke. Motörhead released 23 studio albums, 10 live recordings, 12 compilation albums and five EPs over a career spanning 40 years. Vásquez (band)
D Generation (also known as DGen) are an American glam punk band formed in 1991 in New York City. They released three albums and several EPs, to much critical acclaim, before breaking up in 1999. In 2011 the band reunited for a series of shows in Europe and the United States. In 2016, the band reunited again and, on July 29, 2016, they released their fourth album, ''Nothing Is Anywhere''. Murphy's Law is an American hardcore punk band from New York City, formed in 1982. While vocalist Jimmy Gestapo remains the only founding member of the band, the line-up has consisted of numerous musicians who have performed with a diverse selection of musical acts across multiple genres, such as Skinnerbox, Danzig, The Bouncing Souls, Mucky Pup, Dog Eat Dog, Hanoi Rocks, Agnostic Front, Warzone, Cro-Mags, D Generation, New York Dolls, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, The Slackers, Thursday, Skavoovie and the Epitones, and Glen Campbell. Agnostic Front
Agnostic Front is an American hardcore punk band from New York City. Founded in 1980, the band is considered an important influence on the New York hardcore scene, as well as a pioneer of the crossover thrash genre. History First era (1980–1992) Formed in 1980 with Vincent "Vinnie Stigma" Capuccio (formerly of the Eliminators) on lead guitar, with Diego on bass, Rob Krekus on drums and John Watson on vocals. Despite being billed at their first concert as the Zoo Crew, Stigma introduced them as Agnostic Front, saying that the poster had been made prior to deciding on the name. They soon added Ray Barbieri, aka Raybeez, on drums and Adam Mucci on bass. After Watson was arrested, the band hired James Kontra as their vocalist, who eventually quit before a performance at Great Gildersleeves after a disagreement with Capuccio about how to hand out stickers. Stoner Rock
Stoner rock, also known as stoner metal or stoner doom, is a rock music fusion genre that combines elements of doom metal with psychedelic rock and acid rock. The genre emerged during the early 1990s and was pioneered foremost by Kyuss and Sleep. Characteristics Stoner rock is typically slow-to-mid tempo and features a heavily distorted, groove-laden bass-heavy sound, melodic vocals, and "retro" production. Due to the similarities between stoner and sludge metal, there is often a crossover between the two genres. This hybrid has traits of both styles, but generally lacks stoner metal's laid back atmosphere and its usage of psychedelia. Bands such as Weedeater, High on Fire and Electric Wizard creatively fuse both styles. Todd Youth
Todd Schofield (May 15, 1971 – October 27, 2018), known as Todd Youth, was an American guitarist, best known for his work with Warzone, Murphy's Law and Danzig. Biography Schofield was born and raised in Passaic County, New Jersey, and began playing in several New York hardcore bands at a young age, leading to the nickname, Youth. He debuted with Agnostic Front in 1983 but did not play on any recordings. Youth also played for New York City act Warzone until around 1986. He joined Murphy's Law (another New York City band) that year, recording on various works with them, including three full-length albums. Youth performed with Murphy's Law until 1995. After leaving Murphy's Law, he recorded a single with a band named The Homewreckers in 1996. The Solution (band)
The Solution is a soul band that was formed by the American Scott Morgan (Sonic's Rendezvous Band) and Swede Nick Royale (from The Hellacopters and Entombed) after previously working together in the rock n roll band The Hydromatics. History The origins of the band comes from when Nick Royale of The Hellacopters and Tony Slug from punk band Nitwitz planned to recorded a series of Sonic's Rendezvous Band cover songs. The project never got started due to hectic schedules, but when The Hellacopters toured in America Tony Slug set up a meeting with Scott Morgan and soon The Hydromatics were born. The band released the album "Parts Unknown" and the live recording "Fluid Drive", Nick was then forced to leave the band due to his responsibilities with his main project The Hellacopters. Despite Nick's departure from The Hydromatics, Scott and Nick kept in touch and Morgan recorded vocals for some of The Hellacopters' covers of Sonic's Rendezvous Band songs.
