Christopher Prentice
Christopher Norman Russell Prentice (born 5 September 1954) is a retired British diplomat. His last diplomatic post was Ambassador to Italy. He is currently Chairman of the Governors of the British Institute of Florence. Prentice had been a British diplomat since 1977. From 2002 to 2006 he served as British Ambassador to Jordan, and from 2007 to 2009 as Ambassador to Iraq. Personal life Born in Borough, London, The Borough, London, Prentice is a former cricketer who played a single first-class cricket match for Oxford University Cricket Club, Oxford University, scoring 4 and 19 in a game against Worcestershire County Cricket Club, Worcestershire. Prentice speaks fluent Arabic language, Arabic and Magyar language, Hungarian. He is married to Marie-Josephine (Nina) with whom he has two sons and two daughters. Excellency
Excellency is an honorific style given to certain high-level officers of a sovereign state, officials of an international organization, or members of an aristocracy. Once entitled to the title "Excellency", the holder usually retains the right to that courtesy throughout their lifetime, although in some cases the title is attached to a particular office, and is held only for the duration of that office. Generally people addressed as ''Excellency'' are heads of state, heads of government, governors, ambassadors, Roman Catholic bishops and high-ranking ecclesiastics and others holding equivalent rank (e.g., heads of international organizations).
