Chris Murray (born October 25, 1974) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He played between 1994 and 2000 in the National Hockey League (NHL). Playing career Murray was drafted 54th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in 1994 from the Western Hockey League's Kamloops Blazers and started his National Hockey League career with the Canadiens in the 1994–95 NHL season. He remained with the team for the best of three years before he was part of a three-way trade between Montreal, the Phoenix Coyotes and the Hartford Whalers on March 18, 1997. Murray was first traded to Phoenix with Murray Baron for Dave Manson and was then traded to Hartford for Gerald Diduck. The next season the Whalers relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina and became the Carolina Hurricanes. Chris Murray (born December 26, 1984) is an American former professional ice hockey defenseman. Playing career In 2011, Murray signed for the Charlotte Checkers in the American Hockey League after two seasons within the New Jersey Devils minor league affiliate's. In the end of the 2011–12 season with the Checkers, Murray was injured and was forced to sit out the following season in recovery. On July 18, 2013, Murray marked his return by signing a one-year contract with English club, the Nottingham Panthers of the Elite Ice Hockey League. Chris Murray (born September 26, 1966) is a Canadian-singer-songwriter and guitarist working primarily in the genre of ska. In Canada, he was a member of the now-defunct ska band King Apparatus during the late 1980s and early 1990s. He now lives in the Los Angeles, California area, where he performs regularly, both solo as well as with the Chris Murray Combo. From 2003 until the venue's closure in 2009, Murray organized a weekly ska/reggae show called "The Bluebeat Lounge" which featured both local and out of town artists every Wednesday at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood. Murray recorded ''Slackness'', a collaboration with the seminal New York City ska band The Slackers. The 11-song album features Murray singing lead vocals on new arrangements of his solo material, as well as some entirely new songs and a cover of The Clash's "Janie Jones". Chris Murray (born January 3, 1985, in Roslyn, New York) is a retired American soccer player who most recently played for Wilmington Hammerheads in the USL Professional Division. Career College & Amateur Murray played college soccer at the University of North Carolina Wilmington from 2004 to 2007, where he was named to the All-Colonial Athletic Association second team as a junior in 2005 Murray also played for the Indiana Invaders in the USL Premier Development League. Professional Murray turned professional in 2008 when he joined the Wilmington Hammerheads in the USL Second Division. He made his professional debut on April 26, 2008, as a substitute in Wilmington's 2-0 opening day loss to the Bermuda Hogges. Murray stayed with Wilmington for the 2008 and 2009 seasons. Christopher Murray is a Canadian civil servant who served as the city manager for the City of Toronto from 2018 to 2022. Originally from Fredericton, New Brunswick, Murray previously was the city manager of Hamilton, Ontario, and he is the present chair of the Municipal Benchmarking Network of Canada. Murray was appointed as Toronto's city manager in June 2018 and assumed the role on August 13, 2018, following the departure of Peter Wallace, who was appointed secretary of the Treasury Board of Canada. He resigned as city manager of Toronto on August 19, 2022. Prior to assuming his role with the City of Toronto, Murray had served as Hamilton's city manager for nearly a decade from 2009 to 2018. Christopher John Murray is a British weightlifter competing in the 81 kg weight class. He won gold at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England. Career Murray won his first international medal when he received a bronze in the 62 Kg category at the 2015 Commonwealth Youth Games held in Samoa. Christopher Murray (born November 28, 1978) is a Bahamian former swimmer who specialized in sprint freestyle events. He represented his nation Bahamas, along with his older brother and three-time Olympic veteran Allan Murray, at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, and later held a Bahamian record in the 100 m freestyle at the Georgia Short Course Invitational.
