Christopher Harris (1590–November 1623) of Lanrest in the parish of Liskeard in Cornwall, was a Member of Parliament for West Looe in Cornwall (1621). He should not be confused with his great-uncle Christopher Harris (c.1553-1625) of Radford in the parish of Plymstock in Devon, MP for Plymouth in 1584, whose heir apparent he was. Origins He was the eldest son and heir of John Harris (1564- June 1623) of Lanrest, Recorder of the Borough of West Looe in Cornwall and MP for West Looe in Cornwall in 1614, by his wife Joane Harte, daughter and sole heiress of Robert Harte of Plimston in the parish of Stoke Climsland in Cornwall. Career He matriculated at Exeter College, Oxford on 15 November 1605, aged 15 and was awarded BA on 7 July 1608 and MA on 2 July 1611. He was a law student at Lincoln's Inn in 1611. Christopher Harris (died 1625)
Sir Christopher Harris (c. 1553 – 1625) of Radford in the parish of Plymstock in Devon, was a Member of Parliament for Plymouth in Devon in 1584. He was knighted in 1607. He should not be confused with his great-nephew and heir apparent Christopher Harris (d.1623) of Lanrest in the parish of Liskeard in Cornwall, a Member of Parliament for West Looe in Cornwall (1621). He was a close friend of Admiral Sir Frances Drake, who on one occasion lodged part of his captured treasure at Radford. In partnership with John Hele (died 1608) of Wembury in Devon, serjeant-at-law and MP, Harris acquired the estate of Buckland Abbey in Devon as a seat for Drake. He owned The Armada Service, a set of 31 silver dishes now in the British Museum. Christopher Columbus Harris (January 28, 1842 – December 28, 1935) represented Alabama's 8th congressional district in the United States House of Representatives. Early life Harris was born in Lawrence County, Alabama near the community of Mount Hope. His education consisted of both the public schools and private tutoring. When the American Civil War began, Harris enlisted in the Confederate States of America army. He was assigned to the Sixteenth Alabama Infantry, Company F. He progressed through the ranks, attaining the rank of lieutenant. At a point, Harris was captured and taken as a prisoner of war by the Union. He was held at Camp Chase, Ohio, until the war ended. Christopher Robin Harris (born 16 October 1942) is a former English cricketer. Harris was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm fast-medium. He was born in Buckingham, Buckinghamshire. Harris made his first-class debut for Oxford University against Gloucestershire in 1964. He played 12 further first-class matches for the University, the last coming against Warwickshire in 1965. His most notable moment for the University came against the Free Foresters in 1964, when he took 10 wickets in the match. In the Free Foresters first-innings he took figures of 6/83, while in their second-innings he took 4/52. Despite this, he took only 7 wickets in his other first-class matches, leaving him with 17 at a bowling average of 52.70. His debut for Buckinghamshire came in the same year he debuted for Oxford University, with Harris making his debut for his home county in the Minor Counties Championship against Hertfordshire. Sir Christopher John Ashford Harris, 3rd Baronet (26 August 1934 – 26 April 2022) was a New Zealand businessman, and the third baronet of the Harris Baronetcy of Bethnal Green, County of London, which was created for his grandfather, Percy Harris, in 1932. Biography Born in Wellington on 26 August 1934, Harris was the son of Jack Wolfred Ashford Harris and Patricia Penman. Beason is an unincorporated census-designated place (CDP) in Oran Township, Logan County, Illinois, United States. The town lies one mile (1.6 km) south of Illinois Route 10. At the 2010 census, Beason had a population of 189. Beason has a post office with ZIP code 62512. History Beason was established on July 29, 1872, by Silas Beason, for whom the town is named. It was founded as a stop on the Havana, Lincoln, and Eastern Railroad, which is now a branch of the Illinois Central Railroad. The first store in Beason was a grocery opened by Berryman H.
