Christopher Blake Walters Smith
Christopher Blake Walters Smith (born 1963) was the Archdeacon of Morgannwg from 2006 to 2020, when the archdeaconries of the diocese were reconfigured to remove the Archdeaconry and place its deaneries into the Archdeaconries of Llandaff and Margam. He is currently Vicar of Llanishen. Smith was educated at the University of Wales and St. Michael's College, Llandaff, and was ordained in 1989. Crockfords (London, Church House, 1995) After a curacy in Aberdare he was Vicar of Tongwynlais from 1993 to 2000, and then Domestic Chaplain to the Bishop of Llandaff until his appointment as Archdeacon of Morgannwg. He became Priest-in-Charge of Cwmbach in 2007 whilst also fulfilling the duties of Archdeacon, leaving the benefice in 2020. Archdeacon Of Morgannwg
The Diocese of Llandaff is an Anglican ( Church in Wales) diocese that traces its roots to pre- Reformation times as heir of a Catholic bishopric. It is headed by the Bishop of Llandaff, whose seat is located at the Cathedral Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul in Llandaff, a suburb of Cardiff. It currently covers most of the former Welsh county of Glamorgan, but once stretched from the River Towy to the middle of the Wye Valley. Archdeaconries and deaneries The diocese of Llandaff is currently divided into two archdeaconries: Llandaff and Margam. Priest In Charge
A priest in charge or priest-in-charge (previously also curate-in-charge) in the Church of England is a priest in charge of a parish who is not its incumbent. Such priests are not legally responsible for the churches and glebe, but simply hold a licence rather than the freehold and are not appointed by advowson. The appointment of priests in charge rather than incumbents (one who does receive the temporalities of an incumbent) is sometimes done when parish reorganisation is taking place or to give the bishop greater control over the deployment of clergy. Legally, priests in charge are '' temporary curates'', as they have only spiritual responsibilities. Even though they lead the ministry in their parishes, their legal status is little different from assistant curates. David Yeoman
David Yeoman (born 5 March 1944) is a Welsh Anglican bishop. Yeoman was educated at the University College of South Wales and St. Michael's College, Llandaff. He was and ordained in 1971. After curacies in Cardiff and Caerphilly he held incumbencies in Ystrad Rhondda, Mountain Ash, Coity and Nolton before becoming Archdeacon of Morgannwg in 2004. In that year he was also consecrated to the episcopate and became Assistant Bishop of Llandaff The Bishop of Llandaff is the ordinary of the Church in Wales Diocese of Llandaff.
