Christoph Schmid (born 5 August 1982 in Zug) is a Swiss sport shooter. He won a silver medal in the men's 50 m free pistol at the 2007 ISSF World Cup series in Fort Benning, Georgia, accumulating a score of 659.7 points. Career Schmid represented Switzerland at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where he competed in two pistol shooting events. He scored a total of 573 targets in the preliminary rounds of the men's 10 m air pistol, by two points behind Australia's Daniel Repacholi from the final attempt, finishing only in thirty-third place. Since 2001, Knapik had won a total of four medals at the ISSF World Cup circuit, including gold for the 10 m air pistol (2003 in Changwon, South Korea). Daniel Repacholi (born 15 May 1982) is an Australian sport shooter and politician who has competed at four Olympic Games. He is a member of the Australian Labor Party (ALP) and was elected as a member for the New South Wales seat of Hunter in the 2022 election following the retirement of Joel Fitzgibbon. Repacholi is a former coalminer and runs a small engineering business with 60 employees in the Hunter Valley. He is a member of the Cessnock Hall of Fame, having been inducted in May 2020 for services to sport. Early life Repacholi has competed as a sports shooter since he was 12 years old. The 10 meter air pistol is an Olympic shooting event governed by the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF). It is similar to 10 meter air rifle in that it is shot with 4.5 mm (or .177) caliber air guns at a distance of 10 metres (11 yards), and that the match consists of a qualification round of 60 competition shots within 75 minutes. If an Electronic Scoring System (EST) is not available, 15 minutes are added to the time limit. Competitors are allowed to shoot an unlimited amount of shots during the 15 minutes preparation and sighting time. Along with the 50 meter pistol, it is considered a precision shooting event.
