Christoph Harting
Christoph Harting (born 10 April 1990) is a German athlete specialising in the discus throw. He won the gold medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. He competed at the 2013 and 2015 World Championships, reaching the final on the second occasion. He is the younger brother of multiple-time world champion and fellow Olympic gold medalist Robert Harting Robert Harting (; born 18 October 1984) is a retired German discus thrower. 2019 World Athletics Championships – Men's Discus Throw
The men's discus throw at the 2019 World Athletics Championships was held at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha from 28 to 30 September 2019. Summary Coming in to these championships, Daniel Ståhl dominated the season both with the best throw and the best group of throws. A full metre behind him was Fedrick Dacres and Lukas Weißhaidinger was a further two and a half metres behind him. That form held true in the qualifying round as Ståhl was the only automatic qualifier. As the first thrower, Ståhl set the early standard with a 66.59m. Near the end of the round, Weißhaidinger answered with a 66.74m to take the first round lead. Starting the second round, Ståhl answered back with a 67.18m. Three throws later, Dacres joined the battle with a 66.94m, but that would turn out to be his best of the day. 2019 World Athletics Championships
The 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships () was the seventeenth edition of the biennial, global athletics competition organised by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), since renamed World Athletics. It was held between 27 September and 6 October 2019 in Doha, Qatar, at the renovated multi-purpose Khalifa International Stadium, but reduced to 21,000 available seats. 1,772 athletes from 206 teams competed in 49 athletics events over the ten-day competition, comprising 24 events each for men and women, plus a mixed relay. The 2018 European Athletics Championships were held in Berlin, Germany, from 6 to 12 August 2018. The championships were part of the first European Championships with other events happening in the United Kingdom. For the second Championships in a row the Russian team did not participate; this was due to the suspension of the All-Russia Athletic Federation by the International Association of Athletics Federations. However, several athletes were cleared by the IAAF to compete as Authorised Neutral Athletes under the flag of the European Athletic Association.
