Christiansfeld Municipality
Christiansfeld Municipality (Danish '' kommune'') existed until January 1, 2007, in South Jutland County. It was named after Christiansfeld. The municipality covered an area of 211 km2, and had a total population of 9,585 (2005). Its last mayor was Jørgen From, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. The municipality was created in 1970 as the result of a ("Municipality Reform") that combined the following parishes: * Aller Parish * Bjerning Parish * Christiansfeld Parish * Fjelstrup Parish * Frørup Parish * Hejls Parish * Hjerndrup Parish * Stepping Parish * Taps Parish * Tyrstrup Parish * Vejstrup Parish Christiansfeld municipality ceased to exist as the result of ''Kommunalreformen'' ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). Danish Language
Danish (; , ) is a North Germanic language spoken by about six million people, principally in and around Denmark. South Jutland County
South Jutland County (Danish: ''Sønderjyllands Amt'') is a former county (Danish: ''amt'') on the south-central portion of the Jutland Peninsula in southern Denmark. The county was formed on 1 April 1970, comprising the former counties of Aabenraa (E), Haderslev (N), Sønderborg (SE), and Tønder (SW). The county was abolished effective 1 January 2007, when the Region of Southern Denmark was formed. Following the reunification of the region with Denmark, the Church of Denmark elevated Haderslev to a diocese in 1923 and divided the region between the dioceses of Ribe (W) and Haderslev (E). Christiansfeld
Christiansfeld, with a population of 2,977 (1 January 2022), is a town in Kolding Municipality in Southern Jutland in Region of Southern Denmark. The town was founded in 1773 by the Moravian Church and named after the Danish king Christian VII. Since July 2015 it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site, highlighting its status as the best-preserved example of the town-planning and architecture of the Moravian Church. Description The town was constructed around a central Church Square bordered by two parallel streets running east to west. The Hall, Sister's House, fire-house, the vicarage, and the former provost’s house were built directly around the square, and shops, Brother's House, family residences, a hotel, and a school were built along the parallel streets.
