Christiania Roklub
Christiania Roklub is a rowing club from Oslo, Norway. Established in 1878, it is based in Frognerkilen in the Oslofjord, not far from Skarpsno. Its characteristic club house is called "Kongen" ('The King'), and was erected in 1925. Pål Børnick
Pål Børnick (born 3 November 1955) is a Norwegian competition rower and twice World Champion. He received a silver medal in lightweight coxless fours at the 1976 World Rowing Championships in Villach, Austria. The team consisted of Edd Hillstad, Per Arvid Steen, Ivar Sølberg and Børnick. Børnick won a gold medal in lightweight double sculls at the 1978 FISA Lightweight Championships in Copenhagen, together with Arne Gilje. While the main championship was held in Cambridge, New Zealand, the lightweight championship was held in Copenhagen, Denmark. Gilje and Børnick won a second gold medal at the 1979 World Championships in Lake Bled, Yugoslavia. He resides at Geilo is a centre in the municipality of Hol in Viken county, Norway. Rowing, sometimes called crew in the United States, is the sport of racing boats using oars. It differs from paddling sports in that rowing oars are attached to the boat using oarlocks, while paddles are not connected to the boat. Rowing is divided into two disciplines: sculling and sweep rowing. In sculling, each rower holds two oars—one in each hand, while in sweep rowing each rower holds one oar with both hands.
