Christian Philipp Müller
Christian Philipp Müller (born 2 November 1957) is a Swiss artist. Education and early work Müller was born in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland, and attended the Farbe und Form (F+F) in Zurich from 1982 to 1983, where he studied Fine Arts and graphic design. From 1984 to 1989, he studied Fine Arts at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, where he was a Master Student of Prof. Fritz Schwegler and Tutor to Prof. Kasper König. His first exhibition at Galerie Christian Nagel, ''Köln–Düsseldorf'' (Cologne–Düsseldorf), took place in Cologne in 1990. The next year, he had his first solo museum exhibition, ''Fixed Values'' (1991), at the Palais de Beaux-Arts, Brussels. For this exhibition, presented a retrospective of his work. Conceptual Art
Conceptual art, also referred to as conceptualism, is art in which the concept(s) or idea(s) involved in the work take precedence over traditional aesthetic, technical, and material concerns. Some works of conceptual art, sometimes called installations, may be constructed by anyone simply by following a set of written instructions. Biel/Bienne (official bilingual wording; , ) is a List of towns in Switzerland, town and a Municipalities of Switzerland, municipality in the Biel/Bienne (administrative district), Biel/Bienne administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland. The Kunstakademie Düsseldorf is the academy of fine arts of the state of North Rhine Westphalia at the city of Düsseldorf, Germany. Fritz Schwegler
Fritz Schwegler (7 May 1935 – 3 June 2014) was a German painter, graphic artist, sculptor and musician. Life and work Born in the Swabian town of Breech near Göppingen, Schwegler was first apprenticed as a joiner to his father. He then traveled through the whole of Europe for three years, where he visited 21 cities. As an artist, he first appeared as an iconoclastic, uncanny creator of image collages and spoken performances, entitled "Effeschiaden", "Effeschiadiana", "Effeschiaturen", "Moritafeln", "Zehnerschaften", "Viererreihen" and "Urnotizen", which were also accompanied by photographs and film sequences, but later he also made sculptures out of wood and produced a series of 1000 bronze sculptures. Schwegler exhibited at the documentas 5 and 8 in Kassel. In 1999 he received the Hans Thoma Prize, and in 2003 he was awarded the Bernhard Heiliger Award of Sculpture for outstanding achievements in the field of sculpture. Kasper König
Kasper König (born 1943) is a German museum director and curator. Career König was born in Mettingen. In 1965 he traveled to New York as a courier on behalf of the Robert Fraser Gallery, where he lived intermittently until 1978. From 1973 to 1975, König taught as an associate professor at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax, Canada. He became a professor at the Düsseldorf Art Academy in 1985. Portikus, an exhibition hall for contemporary art in Frankfurt am Main, was founded in 1987 by König. From 1988 to 2000, König taught as a professor at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main, which he headed as rector from 1989. From 2000 to 2012, he was director of the Museum Ludwig in Cologne. The Centre for Fine Arts (french: Palais des Beaux-Arts, nl, Paleis voor Schone Kunsten) is a multi-purpose cultural venue in Brussels, Belgium.
