Christian Obrist (born 20 November 1980 in Brixen) is an Italian middle distance runner, who specializes in the 1500 m. Biography Obrist finished seventh in the 1500 m final at both the 2002 European Athletics Championships in Munich and the 2006 European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg. He was also a semi-finalist at the 2003 World Championships in Athletics. His personal best time is 3:35.32 minutes, achieved in September 2007 in Rieti. He first represented the sports club ''SSV Brixen'', than C.S. Carabinieri. 2010 European Athletics Championships
The 2010 European Athletics Championships were the 20th edition of the European Athletics Championships, organised under the supervision of the European Athletic Association. They were held at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain from 27 July to 1 August 2010. Barcelona was the first Spanish city to host the European Championships. The Italian Athletics Championships ( it, Campionati italiani assoluti di atletica leggera) are the national championships in athletics, organised every year by the Federazione Italiana di Atletica Leggera. The first edition, four races only, was held in 1906 at Arena Civica in Milan, just after the foundation of the Federazione Podistica Italiana and with the organization of ''La Gazzetta dello Sport''. Since then, 110 editions were held with the only exceptions of the years 1915-1918 and 1944. The men's 1500 metres at the 2008 Summer Olympics took place on 15–19 August at the Beijing National Stadium. Forty-eight athletes from 30 nations competed.
