Christian Mikolajczak (born 15 May 1981) is a German former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Mikolajczak began his professional football career with FC Schalke 04 where he would play in the Bundesliga. After making a few competitive appearances for Schalke, the club loaned him to Hannover 96. Shortly after, Mikolajczak left to spend the remainder of his football career in the 2. Bundesliga The 2. Fußball Club Erzgebirge Aue e.V., commonly known as simply FC Erzgebirge Aue or Erzgebirge Aue (), is a Football in Germany, German football club based in Aue-Bad Schlema, Saxony. The former East German side was a founding member of the 3. Liga in 2008–09, after being relegated from the 2. Bundesliga in 2007–08. The city of Aue-Bad Schlema has a population of about 20,800, making it one of the smallest cities to ever host a club playing at the second highest level of German football. The 2000–01 Bundesliga was the 38th season of the Bundesliga, Germany's premier football league. It began on 11 August 2000 and ended on 19 May 2001. FC Bayern Munich successfully defended their title after a last-minute Patrik Andersson goal denied Schalke 04 their first title. Competition modus Every team played two games against each other team, one at home and one away. Teams received three points for a win and one point for a draw. If two or more teams were tied on points, places were determined by goal difference and, if still tied, by goals scored. The team with the most points were crowned champions while the three teams with the fewest points were relegated to 2. Bundesliga.
