Christian Haas (sprinter)
Christian Haas (born 22 August 1958, in Nuremberg, Bavaria, West Germany) is a retired West German sprinter who specialized in the 100 metres. Biography Haas was West Germany's 100 metre champion in 1980–83 and 1985–87. He added the West German 200 metre titles also in 1980, and '87. He also won the West German indoor 60 metres titles in 1981–88. At the 1982 European Championships he reached the semi-final of the 100 metres but went on and helped win the bronze medal in the 4 x 100 metres relay with teammates Christian Zirkelbach, Peter Klein and Erwin Skamrahl. At the 1983 World Championships he finished sixth in 100 metres final and fifth in the 4 x 100 metres relay final. He was European indoor 60 metre champion in 1984, this was followed by the Los Angeles Olympics where he failed to pass the opening rounds of the 100 metres. Eugen Ray (26 July 1957, in Gerbstedt, Bezirk Halle, East Germany – 18 January 1986, in Leipzig, East Germany) was an East German sprinter who ran in the 100 metres and 200 metres. Biography Ray established himself in the elite of world sprinting by setting a world junior 100 m record of 10.16 seconds. He was East German 100 metres champion in 1977, 1978, and 1980. In 1978 he also won the East German indoor 60 metres titles, as well as twice indoor 100 metre champion. He was European cup semi finalist 100 metre champion in 1975, 1977, and 1979. And in 1977 he was European cup 100/200 metre winner. After this he then went on to the World Cup held in West Germany where he came second in the 100 metres narrowly beaten by Steve Williams of the USA. Karl-Friedrich Haas (28 July 1931 – 12 August 2021) was a West German athlete who mainly competed in the 400 metres. He was born in Berlin, Brandenburg, Prussia, Germany. He competed for West Germany in the 1952 Summer Olympics held in Helsinki, Finland where he won the bronze medal in the 4 x 400 metre relay with his team mates Hans Geister, Günther Steines and Heinz Ulzheimer. LAC Quelle Fürth
Lac is the resinous secretion of a number of species of lac insects, of which the most commonly cultivated is ''Kerria lacca''. Cultivation begins when a farmer gets a stick that contains eggs ready to hatch and ties it to the tree to be infested. Thousands of lac insects colonize the branches of the host trees and secrete the resinous pigment. The coated branches of the host trees are cut and harvested as sticklac. The harvested sticklac is crushed and sieved to remove impurities. The sieved material is then repeatedly washed to remove insect parts and other material. The resulting product is known as seedlac. The prefix ''seed'' refers to its pellet shape. Seedlac, which still contains 3–5% impurity, is processed into shellac by heat treatment or solvent extraction. The leading producer of lac is Jharkhand, followed by the Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, and Maharashtra states of India.
