Christian Gerber
Christian Gerber (born 24 May 1952, in Switzerland) is an orthopedic surgeon, physician, scientist and medical teacher in orthopedic surgery. He is the current Chairman of the Department of Orthopedics at the University of Zürich, Switzerland. After studying medicine at the University of Berne, he was trained in orthopedic surgery in several Swiss hospitals, including the Davos Hospital and the University Hospital of Berne. He specialized in shoulder surgery at the University of Texas, San Antonio in 1984 and subsequently trained on tumor foot and ankle surgery as well as pediatric orthopedics in Paris in 1985. From 1985 to 1991 he served as a consultant at the Department of Orthopedics at the University of Berne, where in 1991 he was promoted to associate professor in orthopedic surgery.
