Christian Campbell (cornerback)
Christian Campbell (born November 27, 1995) is an American football cornerback for the Memphis Showboats of the United States Football League (USFL). He played college football at Penn State. Professional career Arizona Cardinals Campbell was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the sixth round (182nd overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft. The pick used to select him was previously acquired from the Denver Broncos in exchange for Jared Veldheer. On May 11, 2018, he signed his rookie contract. He was waived on September 1, 2018. New Orleans Saints On October 17, 2018, Campbell was signed to the New Orleans Saints practice squad. He signed a reserve/future contract with the Saints on January 21, 2019. Cornerback
A cornerback (CB) is a member of the defensive backfield or secondary in gridiron football. Cornerbacks cover receivers most of the time, but also blitz and defend against such offensive running plays as sweeps and reverses. They create turnovers through hard tackles, interceptions, and deflecting forward passes. Other members of the defensive backfield include strong and free safeties. The cornerback position requires speed, agility, strength, and the ability to make rapid sharp turns. A cornerback's skill set typically requires proficiency in anticipating the quarterback, backpedaling, executing single and zone coverage, disrupting pass routes, block shedding, and tackling. Jared Veldheer
Jared Veldheer (born June 14, 1987) is a former American football offensive tackle. He was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He played college football at Hillsdale. Early life and college Veldheer was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Jim and Mary Veldheer. He has two siblings, one older brother (Aaron Veldheer) and a younger sister (Meghan Veldheer). Jared graduated from Forest Hills Northern High School in 2005. 2022 USFL Draft
The 2022 USFL Draft, also known as the 2022 USFL Player Selection Meeting, was the player selection process to fill the rosters of the eight teams for the 2022 USFL season. The draft was held on February 22–23, 2022, with results released through the USFL's social media channels. Structure The USFL player allocation process will be held in multiple phases, separated by position groups. The league will use a "snake" format in each phase, in which the draft order reversed with each round. The draft order will be shuffled for each phase as predetermined through lotteries. A draft pool of 450–500 players are eligible to be picked after signing contracts before hand. The first five phases are scheduled for February 22, with the final two phases occurring on February 23.
