Christian Associations Of Italian Workers
The Christian Associations of Italian Workers (''Associazioni Cristiane dei Lavoratori Italiani'', ACLI; alternatively translated as Italian Christian Workers' Association) are a widespread lay Catholic association in Italy. Its work is based on the Catholic social teaching. The ACLI were founded in 1944 in reaction to the decision by Catholic trade unionists to take part to the foundation of the unitary Italian General Confederation of Labour (CGIL). In 1948 ACLI leaders contributed to the foundation of the Italian Confederation of Workers' Trade Unions (CISL), a Christian-oriented split from the CGIL, which had come under Communist influence. The ACLI first leader, Achille Grandi, was a Christian Democratic member of the Constituent Assembly. The Italian People's Party ( it, Partito Popolare Italiano, PPI) was a Christian-democratic, centrist and Christian-leftist political party in Italy. The party was a member of the European People's Party (EPP). Solidary Democracy ( it, Democrazia Solidale, DemoS) is a Christian-leftist political party in Italy. The party's early leader, Lorenzo Dellai has described it as a " Christian-social" party. Populars for Italy ( it, Popolari per l'Italia, PpI) is a Christian-democratic political party in Italy led by Mario Mauro, minister of Defence in Letta Cabinet and, previously, long-serving MEP for Forza Italia. History The party was launched in November 2013 by splinters from Civic Choice (SC) led by Mario Mauro and Lorenzo Dellai, who wanted to continue supporting Enrico Letta's government (in which Mauro served as minister of Defence), but disagreed with SC's perceived liberal outlook. Soon after, the PpI formed joint parliamentary groups, named For Italy, with the Union of the Centre (UdC). Civic Choice ( it, Scelta Civica; SC) was a centrist and liberal political party in Italy founded by Mario Monti. The party was formed in the run-up of the 2013 general election to support the outgoing Prime Minister Monti and continue his political agenda. In the election SC was part of a centrist coalition named With Monti for Italy, along with Union of the Centre of Pier Ferdinando Casini and Future and Freedom of Gianfranco Fini. In April 2013, SC became part of the grand coalition government led by Enrico Letta of the Democratic Party. In February 2014 after Letta's resignation, Civic Choice supported the cabinet of Matteo Renzi. Andrea Olivero (born 24 February 1970) is the Italian Vice Minister for Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies and a senator of the Italian Republic. He has been President of the Christian Associations of Italian Workers from 2006 to 2012. Biography After graduating from the University of Turin, he became a teacher in the province of Cuneo. In 1992 he was one of the promoters of Christian Associations of Italian Workers (ACLI) of Cuneo in 1994 and promotes the establishment of the Emmaus Community of Boves. is a fictional character featured in video games and related media released by Nintendo. Giovanni Bianchi (19 August 1939 – 24 July 2017) was an Italian politician. Early life and career Graduated in Political Science from the Catholic University of Milan, he was a teacher of philosophy and history in high schools. Politics A democrat of Christian inspiration, he engaged in politics and the trade union. He was municipal councilor for the Christian Democracy in Sesto San Giovanni and dealt with school problems.
