"Christian" is a song by English new wave band China Crisis. It was released as a single from their debut studio album '' Difficult Shapes & Passive Rhythms, Some People Think It's Fun to Entertain'' (1982) and was the band's first major success on the UK Singles Chart, peaking at number 12 in February 1983. China Crisis
China Crisis are an English new wave and synth-pop band. They were formed in 1979 in Kirkby, near Liverpool, Merseyside with a core of lead vocalist and keyboardist Gary Daly and guitarist Eddie Lundon. Initially a politically charged post-punk band influenced by Brian Eno's ambient soundscapes China Crisis soon crossed over to a more commercial sound and had success in the United Kingdom in the 1980s with ten Top 50 singles (four of them reached the Top 20) and three Top 40 albums (two entered the Top 20 and received a Gold certification). ''The Bill'' is a British police procedural television series, first broadcast on ITV from 16 August 1983 until 31 August 2010. The programme originated from a one-off drama, '' Woodentop'', broadcast in August 1983. The programme focused on the lives and work of one shift of police officers, rather than on any particular aspect of police work. Andy Pask
Andrew Howard Pask (born 30 August 1955) is an English musician who was a member of the band Landscape. He wrote the theme to the TV show ''The Bill''. Early years Andy Pask was a pupil at Haileybury College where he played cello in school orchestras and bass guitar in school bands. He began his music career as a chorister in the choir of New College, Oxford, studied cello and double bass at the Royal Academy of Music in London and was a member of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra. After leaving college, he went on to become a founding member of the band Landscape. Landscape Landscape was formed in 1974 with Richard James Burgess (vocals, drums), Christopher Heaton (keyboards), Andy Pask (bass), Peter Thoms (trombone, keyboards), and John Walters (keyboards, woodwinds). Landscape is an English synth-pop band, best known for the 1981 hits "Einstein a Go-Go" and "Norman Bates". ''Difficult Shapes & Passive Rhythms Some People Think It's Fun to Entertain'' is the debut studio album by English new wave band China Crisis, released on 12 November 1982 by Virgin Records. It spent 17 weeks on the UK Albums Chart and peaked at number 21 in February 1983. Recording The album was recorded during a long period of time in different studios with different producers. Half the album that eventually made up side two on the album was recorded on an eight-track studio in Liverpool before China Crisis had signed a recording contract with Virgin Records. "African and White" was produced by Jeremy Lewis. The other half of the album that made up side one was produced by Steve Levine (two tracks) and Peter Walsh (three tracks). Peter Walsh (record Producer)
Peter Walsh (born 1960) is a British record producer and engineer. Walsh began his career as an engineer at London's Utopia Studios in the late 1970s, working with Stevie Wonder, The Tubes, Spandau Ballet and The Boomtown Rats amongst others. His breakthrough was as assistant producer on the 1981 debut album by Heaven 17, ''Penthouse and Pavement''. Following this success he went on to produce several artists among them Peter Gabriel, China Crisis, Gene Loves Jezebel and Simple Minds. In 1984, Walsh produced Scott Walker's album, '' Climate of Hunter''. Walsh has continued to work with Walker, producing and performing on his 1995 album ''Tilt'', the 2006 album ''The Drift'', the 2012 album ''Bish Bosch'', and the 2014 album '' Soused'', a collaboration between Walker and drone metal band Sunn O))).
