Christa L. Deeleman-Reinhold
Christa Laetitia Deeleman-Reinhold (born 23 November 1930) is a Dutch arachnologist. She specializes in spiders from Southeast Asia and Southern Europe, particularly cave-dwelling and tropical spiders. She donated a collection of about 25,000 Southeast Asian spiders, the largest collection of Southeast Asian spiders in existence, to the Naturalis Biodiversity Center in Leiden. In addition to numerous articles, she has written the book ''Forest Spiders of South East Asia'' (2001). She born in 1930 to Dutch parents on the island of Java, Dutch East Indies. Her family returned to the Netherlands in 1935, and she entered Leiden University in 1949. after three years she began working at entered the Dutch National Museum of Natural History, studying mantises under museum director Hilbrand Boschma. She began studying spiders as a postgraduate, first studying Dutch ground spiders, and later cave spiders of the genus ''Troglohyphantes'' under the supervision of , and earned a PhD. from ...

Arachnology
Arachnology is the scientific study of arachnids, which comprise spiders and related invertebrates such as scorpions, pseudoscorpions, and harvestmen. Those who study spiders and other arachnids are arachnologists. More narrowly, the study of spiders alone ( order Araneae) is known as araneology. The word "arachnology" derives from Greek , ''arachnē'', "spider"; and , ''-logia'', "the study of a particular subject". Arachnology as a science Arachnologists are primarily responsible for classifying arachnids and studying aspects of their biology. In the popular imagination, they are sometimes referred to as spider experts. Disciplines within arachnology include naming species and determining their evolutionary relationships to one another (taxonomy and systematics), studying how they interact with other members of their species and/or their environment (behavioural ecology), or how they are distributed in different regions and habitats (faunistics). Other arachnologists perform ...

Herennia Deelemanae
''Herennia'' is a genus of spiders in the family Araneidae, found from India to northern Australia. It was formerly placed in a separate family, Nephilidae. While two species have been known since the 19th century, nine new species were described in 2005. Spiders in this genus are sometimes called coin spiders. While ''H. multipuncta'' is invasive and synanthropic, all other known species are endemic to islands. Like in the related genus ''Nephilengys'', the much smaller males mutilate and sever their pedipalps, which are often found stuck in the epigynum or female genital openings. It is suggested that they act as mating plugs to prevent other males from mating with the female and thereby ensure the paternity of offspring. The males cannot mate subsequently and such "eunuch" individuals continue to stay near the female. Name Herennia Etruscilla was the wife of Trajan Decius. There are coins bearing her image, which were probably the source for Thorell to name the genus. The no ...

Hersilia Deelemanae
In Roman mythology, Hersilia was a figure in the foundation myth of Rome. She is credited with ending the war between Rome and the Sabines. Battle of the Lacus Curtius In some accounts she is the wife of Romulus, the founder and first King of Rome in Rome's founding myths. She is described as such in both Livy and Plutarch; but in Dionysius, Macrobius, and another tradition recorded by Plutarch, she was instead the wife of Hostus Hostilius, a Roman champion at the time of Romulus. This would make her the grandmother of Tullus Hostilius, the third king of Rome. Livy tells this tale in his work ''Ab urbe condita'': Just like her husband (who became the god Quirinus), she was deified after her death as Hora Quirini, as recounted in Ovid's ''Metamorphoses'': Very little concrete information is known about the deity Hora Quirini. According to Georg Wissowa, Ovid created the story of Hersilia's apotheosis into Hora Quirini. On the other hand, T.P. Wiseman argues that the sto ...

Harpactea Deelemanae
''Harpactea'' is a genus of woodlouse hunting spiders that was first described by W. S. Bristowe in 1939. They are non-web building predators that forage on the ground and on tree trunks at night, mainly in xerothermic forests. During the day, they hide in silk retreats they build under rocks or bark. '' H. sadistica'' was found to use traumatic insemination, the arthropod behavior of directly inserting its sperm into the body cavity of females. It is the first time it has ever been observed in spiders. ''H. hombergi'' is the only member of its genus that occurs in Great Britain. Description Like all woodlouse hunters, ''Harpactea'' have six eyes. The type species, '' H. hombergi'', can grow up to a body length of . Males and females are similar, but the female has no epigyne. Like the rest of their family, they are nocturnal. Unlike them, ''Harpactea'' do not specialize on hunting woodlice. ''H. rubicunda'' also hunts ''Drassodes'' and other spiders, but most ''Harpactea'' ...
