Christ The Worker Parish, Hong Kong
The Christ the Worker Parish is a local Roman Catholic church in the Special Administrative Region of Hong Kong. The chapel is located inside Ngau Tau Kok Caritas Centre. Her pastoral region extends from Upper Ngau Tau Kok Estate, Lower Ngau Tau Kok Estate, Jordan Valley, Hong Kong, Jordan Valley to Kowloon Bay. Brief history * In 1953, the Maryknoll Fathers founded the Maryknoll Mission School in Fuk Wah Village, Ngau Tau Kok. The school was designed and erected by Brother Albert Stauli. Mass service was subsequently started in the chapel of this school. The parish was named “Our Lady Queen of Angels Parish” * In 1966, Maryknoll Secondary School was founded in Jordan Valley (Middle East), Jordan Valley. Our Lady Queen of Angels Parish started a new mass service in the chapel of School. Upper Ngau Tau Kok Estate () is a Public housing in Hong Kong, public housing estate in Ngau Tau Kok, Kwun Tong, Kowloon, Hong Kong, located next to Kwun Tong Garden Estate and between MTR Ngau Tau Kok station and Kowloon Bay station. After redevelopment, the estate has 9 blocks developed into 3 phases. Background The whole Ngau Tau Kok Estate was separated into Upper Ngau Tau Kok Estate and Lower Ngau Tau Kok Estate, developed in late 1960s. Upper Estate was a low cost housing estate with totally 9 blocks, while Lower Estate was a resettlement estate with totally 14 blocks. Upper Ngau Tau Kok Estate started its Phase 1 redevelopment in 1998, in which 3 new blocks were constructed in 2003 to offer totally 2,133 units. Lower Ngau Tau Kok Estate
Lower Ngau Tau Kok (II) Estate was a 7-block public housing estate built on reclaimed land in Ngau Tau Kok, Kwun Tong, Kowloon, Hong Kong, located opposite Kowloon Bay station on the MTR. The demolition of the estate started in March 2010. The estate, along with the Lower Ngau Tau Kok (I) Estate, which was demolished in June 2004, formed the Lower Ngau Tau Kok Estate. A new estate, retaining the name Lower Ngau Tau Kok Estate, is being constructed on the site. The estate was often described as the last resettlement estate in Hong Kong. Jordan Valley () is a neighborhood north of Ngau Tau Kok, which is located in the north-west of Kwun Tong District, Hong Kong. It includes Amoy Gardens. Kowloon Bay is a body of water within Victoria Harbour and an area within Kowloon, Hong Kong. The bay is located at the east of the Kowloon Peninsula and north of Hong Kong Island. It is the eastern portion of Victoria Harbour, between Hung Hom and Lei Yue Mun. The bay was divided into half when the 13/31 runway of the former Kai Tak Airport, Kai Tak International Airport was constructed in the middle of the bay in the mid-1950s. Ngau Tau Kok is an area of eastern Kowloon in Hong Kong, in the north of Kwun Tong District east to Kowloon Bay. Largely residential, Ngau Tau Kok has a population in excess of 210,000.
