Christopher Evenson Turner (born September 8, 1987) is an American football quarterback. He played quarterback for the Maryland Terrapins at the University of Maryland from 2007 to 2009. Turner began his career at Maryland as a redshirt in 2005 and then served as a reserve quarterback before he earned the starting position. After a redshirt season in 2005, Turner saw no playing time as the third-string quarterback the following year. In 2007, he replaced the injured starter during the game against 10th-ranked Rutgers and led the Terrapins to an upset victory. After that, he remained as the team's leader for the remainder of the season, and against eighth-ranked Boston College, engineered another upset victory. Turner also helped Maryland secure an appearance in the Emerald Bowl. At the start of the 2008 season, he was relegated to backup status, but soon regained the starting position. Christopher Wan Turner (born March 23, 1969) is an American former Major League Baseball (MLB) player who played for the California Angels, Kansas City Royals, Cleveland Indians, and New York Yankees between 1993 and 2000, and was a member of the Yankees' 2000 World Series championship team. He was primarily used as a backup catcher, but also played some first base, right field, left field, and saw time as a designated hitter. Amateur career A native of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Turner attended Western Kentucky University. In 1989 and 1990, he played collegiate summer baseball in the Cape Cod Baseball League for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox. Christopher James Turner (3 April 1951 – 27 April 2015) was an English professional footballer and manager, best known for a nine-year association as a player with Peterborough United. Playing career Turner began his playing career with Peterborough United in 1969. He went on to make 314 league appearances as a defender, scoring 37 goals. 1977 saw him spend a loan spell in the US with the Connecticut Bicentennials, an experience he enjoyed so much that he moved permanently to the New England Tea Men a year later. He returned to England to join Luton Town the same year, and although he did well during his season in Bedfordshire, he moved back to New England at the end of the season. At the end of the American season, he switched again, this time to join Cambridge United. Christopher Robert Turner (born 15 September 1958) is an English former footballer and who is now director of football at Wakefield. He made 589 league and cup appearances in a 19-year career as a professional in the English Football League, and then took charge of a further 469 matches as a manager. A goalkeeper, he began his career at hometown club Sheffield Wednesday, winning the club's Player of the Year award in his debut season in 1977–78. He then won a place on the PFA Team of the Year the following season, and also played on loan at Lincoln City, before being sold to Sunderland for £80,000 in July 1979. He helped Sunderland to win promotion out of the Second Division in 1979–80, and in 1985 played on the losing side in the League Cup final, before he was named as the club's Player of the Year. Chris Turner (born 3 January 1987) is a Northern Irish footballer. He has been capped at under-19 and under-21 level by Northern Ireland. Club career Turner began his career at Derby County but moved to Ireland to join Sligo Rovers in December 2005 after the club returned to the top flight by winning the First Division title a month earlier. Turner helped Sligo to fifth position in their first season back in the big time and remained at the Showgrounds for the opening half of the 2007 season before signing for Bohemians in the July transfer window. At Dalymount Park, Turner made his club debut in an FAI Cup win over Malahide United on 19 August 2007. Christopher Jack Michael Turner (born 26 August 1990) is an English semi-professional footballer who played in the Football League, as a midfielder for Accrington Stanley. He plays for club Barnoldswick Town. Career Turner was born in Burnley and educated at St Theodore's RC High School in the town. He started his footballing career as a seven-year-old with local junior side Brierfield Celtic, and later St Joseph's in Accrington. In 2009, Turner joined the youth system at Burnley. Chris Turner (born February 1, 1960) is a Canadian retired soccer goalkeeper who played professionally in the North American Soccer League and Major Indoor Soccer League. He also earned four caps with the Canada national team. Professional In 1979, Turner signed with the San Jose Earthquakes where he became a regular in the nets. He played for the Detroit Lightning during the 1979–80 Major Indoor Soccer League season. In 1981, he played for the Los Angeles Aztecs. Biography Turner was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, where his father, a fighter pilot, was stationed with the Canadian military.
