Chris Simms
Christopher David Simms (born August 29, 1980) is an American sports analyst and former American football, football player. He was a quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the third round of the 2003 NFL Draft after playing college football for the Texas Longhorns football, Texas Longhorns. Simms also played for the Denver Broncos and the Tennessee Titans. He is the son of former New York Giants quarterback and Super Bowl XXI MVP Phil Simms and the older brother of quarterback Matt Simms (American football), Matt Simms. The quarterback (commonly abbreviated "QB"), colloquially known as the "signal caller", is a position in gridiron football. Super Bowl XXI was an American football game between the American Football Conference (AFC) champion Denver Broncos and the National Football Conference (NFC) champion New York Giants to decide the National Football League (NFL) champion for the 1986 season. 2001 Oklahoma Sooners Football Team
The 2001 Oklahoma Sooners Football team represented the University of Oklahoma in the 2001 NCAA Division I-A football season, the 107th season of Sooner football. The team was led by third-year head coach Bob Stoops. They played their home games at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman, Oklahoma. They were a charter member of the Big 12 conference. Conference play began with a win over the Kansas State Wildcats in Norman on September 29, and ended at home in an upset loss to the Oklahoma State Cowboys in the annual Bedlam Series. The Sooners finished the regular season 10–2 (6–2 in Big 12), finishing second in the Big 12 South. Red River Showdown
The Oklahoma–Texas football rivalry is a college football rivalry game between border rivals Oklahoma and Texas. The two teams first played each other in 1900, and the rivalry has been renewed annually and uninterrupted since 1929 for a total of 118 games as of 2022. The rivalry is commonly referred to as the Red River Shootout, or alternatively the Red River Rivalry, or the Red River Showdown. The " Red River" in the name refers to the body of water that runs along much of the border between the states of Texas and Oklahoma. Mack Brown
William Mack Brown (born August 27, 1951) is an American college football coach. He is currently in his second stint as the head football coach for the University of North Carolina, where he first coached from 1988 until departing in 1997, when he left Chapel Hill to become head coach for the University of Texas. In 2018, Brown was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. Two days after Carolina fired Larry Fedora in November 2018, Brown was announced to return as the Tar Heels' head coach after a five-year hiatus from coaching, which he spent as an ESPN analyst. 1999 Aggie Bonfire Collapse
The 1999 Aggie Bonfire collapse occurred at approximately 2:42 a.m. on November 18, 1999 in College Station, Texas, United States. The annual Aggie Bonfire at Texas A&M University collapsed during its construction, killing 12 people and injuring 27. Major Lee Applewhite (born July 26, 1978) is an American football coach and former player who is currently the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the South Alabama Jaguars. He served as head coach at the University of Houston from 2017 to 2018, where he previously served as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. In 2013, he was the co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of Texas under his head coach as a player, Mack Brown.
