Chris Shepard
Chris Shepard is an American recording engineer and general manager at Chicago Recording Company. He is best known for his work with KMFDM, having engineered some of their most popular albums. He also worked on some of Sascha Konietzko's side projects. In addition, he has worked with many other bands, including PIG, Treponem Pal, Prong, Kidneythieves, Wilco, Smashing Pumpkins, Peter Murphy, and Incubus. Recording Engineer
An audio engineer (also known as a sound engineer or recording engineer) helps to produce a recording or a live performance, balancing and adjusting sound sources using equalization, dynamics processing and audio effects, mixing, reproduction, and reinforcement of sound. Audio engineers work on the "technical aspect of recording—the placing of microphones, pre-amp knobs, the setting of levels. Symbols (album)
The tenth studio album by German industrial band KMFDM, titled with a set of five unpronounceable, non-alphabetic symbols, 💥☠️💣🌀👊 (approximated using Emoji), and commonly known as ''Symbols'', was released on September 23, 1997 by Wax Trax! Records. Background Recorded in Seattle, Washington, ''Symbols'' marked the introduction of Tim Skold. While his contribution to this album was as a guest, he would become a full-fledged member for '' Adios'' and ''Attak''. Sascha Konietzko, the frontman of KMFDM, said the title had no special meaning, and was just an idea for a title the group had very early on, before a single album had been released. En Esch said the idea for the album title came from the symbols used for curses in comic books. Seven (Enuff Z'nuff Album)
''Seven'' is the 7th studio album by American rock band Enuff Z'Nuff, which was originally released in Japan as ''Brothers'' under the band name Chip & Donnie in 1994. ''Seven'' was initially intended to form one half of a double-album for the Japanese market, paired with the record that would eventually become the album ''Tweaked''. The sessions were split into two separate discs, with the pop sounding ''Brothers'' album getting re-branded as an Enuff Z'nuff album in 1997 for its US release. As well as the re-titling and new artwork, ''Seven'' contains two bonus tracks not available on the original ''Brothers'' CD. On ''Seven'', the band adopted a more acoustic sound compared to ''Tweaked'', which may be seen as its heavier counterpart. ''Being There'' is the second studio album by the American alternative rock band Wilco, released on October 29, 1996, by Reprise Records. Despite its release as a double album, ''Being There'' was sold at a single album price as a result of a deal between lead singer Jeff Tweedy and the band's label Reprise Records. The album was an improvement for the band in both sales and critical reception, in contrast to their debut album '' A.M.'' (1995). Taking its name from the 1979 film of the same name, the self-produced album featured more surrealistic and introspective writing than on ''A.M.'' ''Peach Fuzz'' is the sixth studio album from the American rock band Enuff Z'Nuff. Like the band's 1994 release ''1985'', this album is viewed more as an archival release than a new album since it features mostly previously recorded material. For example, the tracks "Let It Go" and "Kitty" were initially b-sides to the UK edition of the ''Strength'' single "Mother's Eyes," while the song "Happy Holiday" was first intended for the 1992 film ''Home Alone 2''. Many of the remaining tracks on ''Peach Fuzz'' were recorded during the making of the 1993 album '' Animals with Human Intelligence'', but were likely excluded from that release due to their poppier sounding nature. Tweaked (album)
''Tweaked'' is the 5th studio album and first independently released collection of new material by American rock band Enuff Z'nuff. Having been earlier presented as a glam rock band in the midst of the grunge movement, Enuff Z'nuff fought to distinguish their sound for their first proper independent release. Although the singles "Bullet from a Gun" and "Life Is Strange" lean toward a modern alternative sound, other tracks such as "My Heroin," "Without Your Love," and "How Am I Supposed To Write A Love Song?" were recorded in more of a blues rock style. The remaining songs from ''Tweaked'' don't veer far from the formula used on earlier Enuff Z'nuff albums. Songs such as "My Dear Dream," "We're All Alright," and "Has Jesus Closed His Eyes" utilize their obvious past influences of Electric Light Orchestra, Cheap Trick and The Beatles. Enuff Z'Nuff (a sensational spelling of "enough's enough") is an American rock band from Blue Island, Illinois, founded by singer Donnie Vie and bassist Chip Z'Nuff. The Chicago-area band is best known for their charting singles " Fly High Michelle" and " New Thing". Enuff Z'Nuff has continually recorded and toured throughout their career of more than 30 years, releasing 16 studio albums and 24 CDs to date. Excessive Force
Excessive Force is a musical side project started in 1991 by Sascha Konietzko of KMFDM and Buzz McCoy of My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult. History In 1991, Excessive Force released the single "Conquer Your House", followed by the album ''Conquer Your World''. After this release, McCoy had no more involvement in Excessive Force, which went on to become exclusively a KMFDM side project. In 1993, Excessive Force released the single "Blitzkrieg" followed by the album ''Gentle Death''. The band is also credited with remixes of the KMFDM songs "Light" and "Megalomaniac". ''Blitz'' is German industrial rock group KMFDM's sixteenth studio album, released on March 24, 2009, on KMFDM Records and Metropolis Records. It also marks the first use of five letter song titles and a five letter album title since ''WWIII''. The album charted after its release, as did the song "People of the Lie". ''Blitz'' had songs written in three different languages, and was moderately well received by critics. Most of its songs were remixed for the band's next release, '' Krieg''. ''WWIII'' is KMFDM's thirteenth studio album, released on September 23, 2003. It follows the common KMFDM practice of naming albums with five-letter words. This is KMFDM's only release on Sanctuary Records. Lyrically, the album is very political. The songs primarily attack George W. Bush's presidency, various US wars in the Middle East, and America's foreign policy. The last track, "Intro", introduces the members of the band. It was recorded in Seattle, Washington. The album's first and eponymous single was featured in the game '' Saints Row: The Third''. Reception ''WWIII'' received mixed reviews. '' The News-Times'' called it a "butt-rock masterpiece".
