Chris Morrow
Chris Morrow (born 20 September 1985) is a Northern Irish footballer who currently plays for Brantwood. Playing career Morrow has played for Crusaders as a midfielder since making his debut in 2003, and was voted Ulster Young Footballer of the Year in 2003–04. He was a fan favourite for Crusaders for several years, and was instrumental in their promotion back to the Irish Premier Division, and was part of both the Irish Cup and County Antrim Shield winning sides. He was also named in the Irish League Select XI in 2008. On 30 October 2010 in a league victory against Coleraine, he pulled on the goalkeeping jersey for the final 10 minutes, after Niall Murphy had been sent off. He kept a clean sheet for the remainder of the match despite intense pressure., and repeated the feat later that season against Newry City, this time playing as goalkeeper for a full hour after goalkeeper Chris Keenan was stretchered off. Northern Ireland Football Writers' Association Player Of The Year
The Northern Ireland Football Writers' Association Player of the Year (often called the NIFWA Player of the Year) is an annual award given to the player who is adjudged to have been the best of the season in the IFA Premiership. It is one of two association football Player of the Year awards in Northern Ireland, with the other being the Ulster Footballer of the Year award. The award has been presented since the 1969–70 season and the winner is chosen by a vote amongst members of the association. The first winner of the award was Des Dickson of Coleraine. Steel & Sons Cup
The Steel & Sons Cup (also referred to as the Steel Cup) is an intermediate football competition in Northern Ireland run by the North East Ulster Football Association (also known as the County Antrim & District Football Association). The competition culminates in the final which has traditionally been played on 25 December (except when this date falls on a Sunday). The 2006 final, however, broke with tradition when it was staged on the Saturday before 25 December as this was a closed date for all other football fixtures in Northern Ireland. The final returned to its original Christmas Day slot in 2007-08. The 2012–13 tournament was declared null after Glentoran II were stripped of their title having fielded an ineligible player in an earlier round. IFA Championship
The Northern Ireland Football League Championship (known as the Lough 41 Championship for sponsorship reasons) is the second level of the Northern Ireland Football League, the national football league in Northern Ireland. Clubs in the Championship can be promoted to the highest national division - the NIFL Premiership, and relegated to the third level - the NIFL Premier Intermediate League. The 2011–12 Irish League Cup (known as the Irn-Bru League Cup for sponsorship reasons) was the 26th edition of the Irish League Cup, Northern Ireland's secondary football knock-out cup competition. The competition was contested by the 12 members of the IFA Premiership, as well as the 30 members of the IFA Championship. The competition began on 27 August 2011 and ended with the final on 28 January 2012. Lisburn Distillery were the defending champions, following a 2–1 victory over Portadown in the previous season's final. However, they were eliminated in the Third Round by Crusaders. 2012 Setanta Sports Cup
The 2012 Setanta Sports Cup was the seventh staging of the annual All Ireland, all-Ireland association football competition. It commenced on 11 February 2012 and ended on 12 May 2012, with the final played at The Oval (Belfast), The Oval, Belfast. The draw for the 2012 competition was made at Aviva Stadium, Dublin, on 25 January 2012. Crusaders F.C., Crusaders won the competition for the first time, defeating Derry City F.C., Derry City 5–4 on penalty shoot out, penalties after the scores were level at 2–2 after extra time. Setanta Cup
The Setanta Sports Cup was a club football competition featuring teams from both football associations on the island of Ireland. Inaugurated in 2005, it was a cross-border competition between clubs in the League of Ireland from the Republic of Ireland and the NIFL Premiership from Northern Ireland. The cup was sponsored by Setanta Sports, the Irish subscription sports television network. The competition was discontinued after the 2014 edition.
