Chris McCormack (guitarist)
Chris McCormack (born 1973 in South Shields, England) is an English rock guitarist, best known as the guitarist and co-founder of 1990s rock band, 3 Colours Red and the organiser of Camden Rocks Festival. The younger brother of Danny McCormack of The Wildhearts, Chris McCormack first found success playing guitar for Newcastle-upon-Tyne heavy metal outfit Forgodsake, who released an album on Bleeding Heart Records before McCormack eventually left. He originally moved to London to join Honeycrack with C. J. from The Wildhearts but ended up forming 3 Colours Red with ex- Diamond Head bassist Pete Vuckovic instead. They went on to record two UK top 40 albums and six UK top 40 singles before splitting at their peak in 1999. He soon joined electro rockers Grand Theft Audio with Rich Battersby from The Wildhearts, and spent several months touring the US with them. 3 Colours Red reformed in 2002 and released a third album but split again in 2005. South Shields
South Shields () is a coastal town in South Tyneside, Tyne and Wear, England. It is on the south bank of the mouth of the River Tyne. Historically, it was known in Roman times as Arbeia, and as Caer Urfa by Early Middle Ages. According to the 2011 census, the town had a population of 75,337. It is the fourth largest settlement in Tyne and Wear; after Newcastle upon Tyne, Sunderland and Gateshead. The town became part of Tyne and Wear in 1974. Creation Records
Creation Records Ltd. was a British independent record label founded in 1983 by Alan McGee, Dick Green, and Joe Foster. Its name came from the 1960s band The Creation, whom McGee greatly admired. The label ceased operations in 1999, although it was revived at one point in 2011 for the release of the compilation album ''Upside Down''. Over the course of its sixteen-year history, Creation predominantly focused on alternative rock, releasing several influential indie rock, shoegazing, and Britpop records, but also featured bands performing various other styles of rock, including indie pop and post-punk, as well as some electronic, folk, and experimental artists. Snapper Music is an independent record label founded in 1996 by former head of Castle Communications Jon Beecher, Dougie Dudgeon and funded by Mark Levinson from Palan Music Publishing. In 1999, Snapper broke away from its Palan parent company in an MBO in association with ACT and CAI venture capitalists. In 2004, Snapper Music was bought out by music publisher and former agent and manager Bryan Morrison (deceased) and in 2005 Jon Beecher (MD) and Dougie Dudgeon (A&R) left the company and were replaced by Frederick Jude, a former employee of Palan Music Publishing and a Snapper director. Mighty Atom Records
Mighty Atom Records is a Welsh based record label. The company was formed in early 2000 by Dave Simpson and Roger Hopkins. It is known for having been one of a few independent record labels at the forefront of the UK emo scene in the early 2000s, due to its early involvement with Funeral for a Friend. It operates out of the former BBC buildings in Swansea, Wales. The label ran into financial difficulties as the years progressed and although still a functioning label, have not released any material since Brigade in 2006. The Mighty Atom recording facility 'Mighty Atom Studios' still operates out of Wales, and has recorded the majority of the bands and records released on the label. ''The Union of Souls'' is the third album from U.K. rock band 3 Colours Red. It was released on Mighty Atom Records in 2004. Eight of the ten tracks were recorded at the old BBC studios in Swansea, Wales with Joe Gibb (Funeral for a Friend); the other two ("Repeat to Fade" and "F.C.K.U") were recorded in London with Chris Sheldon (Foo Fighters/ Therapy?).
