Chris McCaw
Chris McCaw (born 1971) is an American photographer whose work is held in many public collections. Life and photography McCaw was born in Daly City, California, in 1971. He has a BFA from the Academy of Art College in San Francisco. McCaw is known for his large-format homemade cameras in which he uses expired gelatin silver photo paper and long exposures to make solarized paper negatives which often include the burned path of the sun within the frame, in a series named ''Sunburn''. McCaw travels to remote places to capture different apparent movements of the sun, including the Arctic Circle in Alaska, the Galápagos Islands and the Mojave Desert. McCaw's earlier work used a 7×17 inch view camera to create large-format negatives from which he made platinum prints. Daly City () is the second most populous city in San Mateo County, California, United States, with population of 104,901 according to the 2020 census. John Chiara
John Chiara (born in 1971, in San Francisco, California) is an American contemporary artist and photographer. Education Chiara holds a B.F.A. from the University of Utah (1995) and an M.F.A. in photography from the California College of the Arts (2004) where he studied with Larry Sultan. Career Chiara builds custom large-format cameras, and exposes his images directly onto hand-cut photographic paper. He built his first camera in 1997.
