Chris McAsey (rower)
Chris McAsey is a New Zealand rower and sailor. McAsey is from Hāwera with much of his extended family still living in that part of Taranaki. At the 1995 World Rowing Championships in Tampere, Finland, McAsey won a silver medal in the coxed four, with Chris White, Andrew Matheson, Murdoch Dryden, and Michael Whittaker as cox. He later switched to sailing, joining Team New Zealand as a grinder for their 2003, 2007, and 2013 America's Cup campaigns. He worked as a truck driver after the 2013 America's Cup. Sandra Anne Easterbrook (née James; 12 March 1946 — 18 November 2019) was a New Zealand netball player. She represented her country in the 1967 World Netball Championships, when won the gold medal for the first time. Biography Easterbrook was born Sandra Anne James on 12 March 1946, and came from the Northland Region. Representing Northland at netball, James was selected as the 41st player to represent the New Zealand national team, and played in two matches during the 1967 world championships in Perth, Western Australia, before a back injury ruled her out of the remainder of the tournament. At , Easterbrook was the tallest player on the team, and played in the position of wing defence (WD). The New Zealand team won all seven of their games at the tournament, including defeating 40–34 in their final game, to win the world championship title for the first time. 2013 America's Cup
The 34th America's Cup was a series of yacht races held in San Francisco Bay on September 2013. The series was contested between the defender Oracle Team USA representing the Golden Gate Yacht Club, and the challenger Emirates Team New Zealand representing the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron. Oracle Team USA defended the America's Cup by a score of 9 to 8 after winning eight consecutive races from Race 12 onwards. Team New Zealand won the right to challenge for the Cup by previously winning the 2013 Louis Vuitton Cup. The 34th America's Cup's race schedule was the longest ever, in terms of number of days and number of races, and the first since the 25th America's Cup to feature both teams in a match point situation.
