Chris Mannella
Christopher Mannella (born June 7, 1994) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder. Club career Toronto FC Mannella joined the youth academy of Toronto FC in 2009 to play in the Canadian Soccer League. In 2014, he was a part of the inaugural season of League1 Ontario with Toronto's senior Academy team. He was named the team's captain and made 11 appearances for the side as they captured the regular season championship. On September 14, 2014, Mannella signed a homegrown player contract with Toronto FC, making him the 10th homegrown signing in club history. Mannella was loaned to Toronto FC II on March 20, 2015 ahead of their inaugural season in the USL. He was named captain of the team upon his arrival. Mannella made his debut against the Charleston Battery on March 21. After two years with Toronto FC II, the club announced they would not pick up Mannella's contract option for the 2017 season. Toronto FC Academy
Toronto FC Academy, also known as TFC Academy, is the youth academy and development system of Canadian Major League Soccer club Toronto FC. The academy has divisions from U14 to U19 and includes over 110 young players. The senior academy team is known as Toronto FC III. History The TFC Academy's U-18 squad began playing in the Canadian Soccer League in 2008, with the U-16 squad competing in the CSL Reserve Division as TFC Academy II. On August 26, 2010 Doneil Henry signed a pro contract with the Toronto FC senior squad becoming the first-ever TFC academy player to sign since the creation of the club in 2007. 2014 League1 Ontario Season
The 2014 League1 Ontario season was the inaugural season of the Division 3 Ontario-based semi-professional Association football, soccer league. It began on May 30, featuring 10 teams. The league's first ever goal was scored by Toronto FC Academy player Dylan Sacramento. Teams Being the first year of the league, all teams are new to the league. On July 22, 2014, the league terminated the license of Internacional de Toronto. Their record will be expunged. Format Unlike most North American sports leagues, there will be no playoffs. The USL Championship (USLC) is a professional men's soccer league in the United States that began its inaugural season in 2011. The Charleston Battery are an American professional association football, soccer club based in Charleston, South Carolina, and member of the USL Championship.
