Chris Leikvoll
Chris Leikvoll () (born 4 December 1975) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1990s and 2000s. Background Born into an English Australian family in Sydney, New South Wales. Leikvoll's surname comes from his Norwegian grandfather. Playing career Leikvoll made his debut for Illawarra in round 12 1997 against South Sydney which ended in a 28–28 draw. Leikvoll played in the club's final ever game as a stand-alone entity which was a 25–24 loss to Canterbury. Leikvoll played as a in the St George Illawarra Dragons side that made the 1999 NRL Grand Final against the Melbourne Storm. It was the joint venture's first season in the premiership. Leikvoll signed with the Warrington Wolves from St George Illawarra Dragons in 2004 until November 2006. Quota Players
Quota players is a term in sport referring to the limit of foreign players on a domestic team. Rugby League An overseas player quota restricts the number of foreign players that rugby league clubs in the Super League, Championship, and League 1 competitions are allowed to sign. Currently, Super League and Championship clubs are allowed a maximum of 5 foreign players, while League 1 clubs are allowed just 2. For the Canadian-based Toronto Wolfpack, American, Canadian, and Jamaican players do not count towards the foreign quota. Previously, the maximum number of foreign players for each Super League club was three. Harlequins RL were permitted four quota players as they are considered to be a non-heartland team. The Illawarra Steelers are an Australian rugby league football club based in the city of Wollongong, New South Wales. The club competed in Australia's top-level rugby league competition from 1982 until 1998. On the 13th of December 1980, they were the first non-Sydney based team to be admitted into the New South Wales Rugby League premiership, with the Canberra Raiders being admitted later ensuring an even number of teams in the competition for the start of their first season, 1982.
