Chris Jans
Christopher Paul Jans (born April 12, 1969) is the American college basketball head coach for Mississippi State. Jans previously coached at New Mexico State, where he led the Aggies from 2017 to 2022. Jans is a graduate of Loras College, and hails from Fairbank, Iowa. Prior to New Mexico State, Jans was hired by Bowling Green in March 2014—his first Division I job. He led Bowling Green to its most wins in 13 years. However, on March 21—shortly after losing to Canisius in the 2nd round of the 2015 CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament, a drunken Jans was seen engaging in lewd and inappropriate behavior toward women at a bar near campus. A Bowling Green alumnus recorded Jans on his cell phone, and was so outraged by what he saw that he reported the incident to school officials. WAC Men's Basketball Tournament
The Western Athletic Conference men's basketball tournament is the conference championship tournament in men's basketball for the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). Even though the WAC was founded in 1962, the annual tournament has only been held since 1984. The winner of the tournament is guaranteed a spot in the NCAA basketball tournament every year. Format and host The event has alternated between being hosted at campus sites and neutral sites throughout its history. From the inaugural event in 1984 until 1992 the regular season champion hosted the tournament, but in 1993 and 1994 the event was held at the Delta Center (now Vivint Arena) in Salt Lake City which, although located less than five miles from then-conference member Utah's campus, was considered a neutral site. Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference
The Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) is a college athletic conference that is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). As of 2007, the KJCCC was home to more than 3,000 student-athletes in the 19 men's and women's sports. The conference's name comes from " Jayhawk" which is a term used for people born in the state of Kansas, where all of the conference's schools are located. NJCAA Men's Division II Basketball Championship
The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Men's Division II Basketball Championships consists of sixteen teams playing over a five-day period (Wednesday through Saturday) in March to determine a National Champion. About the tournament Teams qualify for the tournament by first winning their district/region championships. The NJCAA Division II Men's Basketball Committee then seeds the top eight teams and uses a blind draw to place the remaining eight teams. When choosing the top eight seeds for the tournament, the three criteria that are considered by the committee are the national poll, the coaches' rankings, and each team's history. Loras College
Loras College is a private Catholic college in Dubuque, Iowa. It has an enrollment of approximately 1,600 students and is the oldest post-secondary institution in the state of Iowa.
